Without a doubt the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in in NYC. Old style luxury, tonnes of history, sumptuous everything, beautiful apartment. Yes it’s pricey but so worth it.

Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. No hot water on just one night for reasons unknown.

Great and historic hotel. Very comfortable and central location. Quirky lobby bar and nice tapas restaurant.

Slightly pricey but what can you expect? It is New York City.

The hotel has a lot of character and old world charm. The bar/lounge in the lobby was very romantic and the drinks were fabulous.

A Beautiful historical hotel. If you’re going to stay in New York you need to include a hotel like this. You walk in and you feel the NYC vibe, you wake up and you know you’re in New York. Other Hotels you stay at could be anywhere in the world, bland, soulless, a dime a dozen. Not the Hotel Chelsea, it breathes New York City and you’ll go home with beautiful memories that will stay with you forever.

The Hotel Chelsea's historic role as an icon of NYC art and culture remains even after an upgrade and restoration. The Chelsea vibe is strong, still evoking the transformative art and music culture of the 1960s and earlier eras of New York history. The staff, restaurants, location, design, and decor (as well as comfort - always important in hotels!) work together beautifully. We also greatly appreciated the free room upgrade we received at check-in.

Room was lovely but a bit too cold. We turned the heat up but it seemed to cap at 68-69. The hallway was much warmer.

My husband and I stayed a night for our anniversary, we live in Long Island now but come into the city for work a couple days a week. We booked it because of the history, (Just Kids, Sid & Nancy etc) but had no idea it had been recently renovated, we were pleasantly surprised at what a unique experience we had staying there. It is stylish and classy, an ode to the past while being fully in the present with modern amenities. The Lobby Bar was great and the staff unusually friendly and engaging by NYC standards. A true gem.
