Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

there were 20 sites to book for this room and I don't know if I chose the best one. Wish it were easier to find the site's own booking (presuming that the best price and least add-ons).
I called for a bottle opener and someone dropped it off in 5 minutes. Thank you!

There was nothing to dislike!!
The stay was great. Accommodations were spacious. Patio, sky lights in the living room, a dining area, kitchen fully equipped, and the bathroom. I felt right at home and was sad to leave.

Check-in took a little long, but that was understandable due to graduation weekend in the area. I did not receive a welcome packet, but one of my friends that stayed under a different reservation did.
Rooms were spacious and clean. I had a few friends visit and no issues with their entry through security or with parking.

Nothing comes to mind.
We always enjoy staying at the Historic Powatan. We stay here at least 3-4 times a year while visiting our family. The facilities and grounds are clean and there are lots of things to do there and nearby. The rooms are spacious and fit our family well. The beds are very comfortable and all staff are friendly. We typically stay near the coffee house also, and their coffee is delicious.

Staff was pleasant and helpful. Goundskeepers were so friendly. Unit was sparkling clean and well stocked. The grounds are magazine worthy.

Check on line was long but it was efficient and well done

I didn't like that there was no screen on the patio door. Since there are no windows really in these townhomes (the bedroom looks out onto a covered porch), the door to the livingroom is the only one which can be opened for air if one doesn't want the AC on. But, with no screen, bugs can fly in. I had specifically asked for a room that was at the end of the building or end of the lot so that I wouldn't be near a lot of people. I even called the resort and explained that I just come to visit my son, that I don't go anywhere but I like to sit outside and watch the animals or be near the woods. I was told that wouldn't be a problem and then I received an email saying that request had been seen to. However, i was in the middle of a building; I looked out from my porch on another building. The people across the way had an AC that clearly had something wrong with it and it made a weird noise. Someone else left their porch light on all night long and it shone right into the living room. That kind of messes with one's night vision. I know there are going to be people at a resort, but I specifically come before the huge tourist crowds and as I said, I had asked to be sort of in the back and was told that wouldn't be a problem. So, I was a little disconcerted that I believed what I was told, but it was not the case.
The room was excellent and had more than enough space. The appliances were new, the furniture was better than any I've had in the 10 years I've been staying there. I really like that, for once, there were ottomans to put my feet up on. As a senior citizen, having an ottoman is essential. The suite was spotless and there were no complaints about any of that. This resort is always absolutely the cleanest place I ever stay in. I don't use the amenities and I know lots of people complain about the extra fee, but it includes the WiFI so I'm okay with that. The staff is always checking on you to see if you have everything you need (though I would NOT call someone on vacation at 0900 in the morning and wake them up!). Checking in was easy and quick. My son has been in Williamsburg since 2014 and I come every year and wouldn't choose another place to stay.
