Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe Ludlow is my new favourite place to stay! It’s super well located, the lobby is a great place to chill with a wine or coffee, and the atmosphere and staff were incredible.

CanadaOur room was on the third floor and the street noise kept my wife up - I slept like a champ. Also, the elevators took some time, so we often took the stairs. The room itself did not have a dresser or bank of drawers - which was fine for our 4-day stay but could be annoying for longer stays
Good spot. Room didn't feel like a "corporate" hotel room - more like a guest room at someone's house. The bathtub was nice and deep - fit two people! The seating area was spacious enough for two people to relax.

United StatesThe elevator can be very slow at times.
During our most recent stay, the Ludlow delivered a bag of assorted candies from a nearby store as a "thank you" for returning. I love that you can walk to so many interesting places from the hotel's front door. Trains are close too.

United KingdomThe price. I would have loved to have stayed their for our whole trip but it was too expensive. Room was beautiful but very small for the price. Luckily they have a really comfy hangout downstairs. The restaurant looks amazing but it’s very meat based so couldn’t really eat there as I’m a vegetarian. Would have loved more veggie options.
The hotel was very beautiful! Staff were lovely. Cocktails are amazing! The seating area downstairs is super comfy and relaxing with really good cocktails being served.

United StatesOn Friday and Saturday, there is a small chance you will hear music or people yelling outside when you are trying to sleep. It's a busy, late-night neighborhood. Also the elevators can be slow.
The surrounding neighborhood is packed with interesting stores and worthwhile restaurants - you can easily walk to explore East Village, Chinatown, Soho, and Washington Square Park. You'll have quick access to the trains that can take you uptown or down to Brooklyn. Places to check out: Super Taste, Scarr's Pizza, the Metrograph theater, Cervo's on Canal, Raku for Japanese, Clandestino bar, Le French Diner, Cafe Skye on Clinton

SingaporeFor the price would of had appreciated bigger rooms. No complaints otherwise.
The properly was lovely and so were the staff. Rooms were a little small to fold out the big suitcases but were very clean and the bed is very very comfortable! Area is pretty good for getting around in New York and never felt unsafe. Lots of restaurants around and close to subways. We had a lovely stay!

United KingdomThe food services could have been a lot better, particularly the in room dining app. The room could use a bit more storage space or shelving. We had to move around all the mini bar glasses etc just to have space on the bedside table!
Great decor and vibe. Helpful and friendly front desk staff. Centrally located in the LES.

United KingdomThe rooms are quite small and don’t have a lot of storage. Also, complimentary water isn’t restocked daily. So you either have to hope for the kindness of front desk staff (who were always kind tbf), buy from the minibar or go round the corner to a store.
The staff at The Ludlow were incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, warm and accommodating. The decor is stunning. The location is great for NY eats, nightlife and transport across the city. You’re never really too far from anywhere. It’s a short walk across the bridge to Brooklyn. Hence why we probably didn’t make the most use out of the hotels facilities.

United StatesThe single bank of elevators were incredibly slow in the morning. Like there was a line to use the elevators at 10 in the morning. And the walls were a little thin. My neighbors liked to slam their doors. A lot.
The staff were extraordinarily helpful, friendly and welcoming. Fantastic location, easy to travel thru the city via subway, taxi, etc. Beautifully curated rooms.
