Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI read quite a bit, so a bedside reading lamp with higher wattage would have been perfect. There are bedside lamps on both nightstands, but with lower wattage than I am accustomed to.
The owners provide individualized services to their guests. I was unable to make brunch, so they stocked my fridge with food, snacks and assorted beverages. The owners are super friendly...even joining us for lively conversation at the fire pit!

United States of AmericaMike and Jean were so welcoming. The brunch, oh my! I was expecting hotel type food. Was I ever pleasantly surprised! We had delicious food brought to us in courses. I felt so pampered. My sister and I were there to visit wineries. Jean took the time to find out what we liked and gave us a list of places to try. She even had coupons for discounts! The house was beautiful, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had all kinds of specialty products included. At Our arrival there was a bag of goodies hanging on the door. The microwave and small stocked refrigerator were an added bonus. We were able to use a Keurig with many choices of coffee and tea in our room. I cannot say enough positive things about our stay!

Beautiful. Traditional upscale b&b. Jean & Mike have made the inn elegant and cozy. The attention to detail is beyond expectation. The brunches each morning were spectacular. One can tell right away that Jean puts her heart in her cooking. The brunches were gourmet. And Mike is a pleasure to chat with, especially learning how he used he skills and talents to renovate this splendid manor.

Our breakfasts were superlative. 4 courses of way too much food. Served so beautifully on our table in the parlor it was almost like having the home to ourselves. Mike greeted us when we arrived and he and my husband were completely simpatico about house renovations and beautiful architecture, which the house was full of. Our bed was so comfortable and even though the house was built in 1870, we appreciated the a/c. The property was so well maintained inside and out and our hosts, Mike and Jean, are people we would like to call friends. The town of Ovid was just so lovely. We hope to go again.

United States of AmericaMike and Jean are very personable and accommodating. They are knowledgeable of local events, and provide coupons for all the local wineries. The fresh flowers, the complimentary beverages and snacks, and the extra personal care items available really make you feel pampered! The Manor is beautifully restored. They have mastered blending the modern facilities into the home without losing the histrionic, architectural beauty of the Manor. The beds are very comfy. The brunches were delicious. We loved the fresh, home grown, fruits and veggies! The blackberry brûlée was fantastic! We will definitely return to the Manor when we come to the area!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Tillinghast Manor. The property was beautiful, and owners Jean and Mike were first-class hosts. The meals were beyond anything we could have expected, delicious and well-prepared. The location is very central o the Finger Lakes region, and within easy driving of many points of interest.

United States of AmericaA small dresser in the bedrooms would be a nice addition; I like to unpack if I'm staying for more than 1 night. And perhaps a small desk or table and chair for writing or using a laptop.
The B&B is a beautifully restored mansion with towering ceilings, huge windows and large rooms. Our family of 5 stayed in the Roosevelt and Cayuga rooms for 3 nights. The Roosevelt room is divided into a king bedroom with bath and a separate living room across the hall. The living room has an additional double bed, dining set, couch and big TV. It was perfect for us since our 3 teens were able to use/share the Roosevelt living room and Cayuga bedroom (also a king) and bath. Breakfast was delicious with HUGE portions. The rooms had so many extras -- drinks in the fridge, snacks, chocolates, robe and slippers. The king bed was very comfortable. Jean and Mike were wonderful and welcoming. Nice Italian takeout place a short walk away for a simple dinner, and there was a concert on the town common one night we were there. Very easy driving distance to the Seneca wine trail, Ithaca, Geneva, and Watkins Glen.

The hosts took wonderful care of us during our stay, asking us about our allergies and customizing the breakfast accordingly. They especially made something I wanted and served it on our final day. Warm homely ambience , lavish breakfast, charming property and the most lovely hosts . Highly recommended in the area

Tillinghast is warm and inviting in a great location between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes with access to the wine trails, boat ramps, and dining in either the north or south ends of the lakes.
