Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLack of sound proofing. Some people next door obviously came home from a night out about 2.30 and literally stayed up talking for four hours. They may have been talking loudly but they weren’t shouting and we could hear it all and it was impossible to sleep (it wasn’t the TV). Soho House was exactly the same when it opened in NY. It’s so disappointing to have bad sound proofing in an otherwise excellent new hotel.
Loved the room layout and the rooftop pool.

United States of AmericaI liked everything pretty well. I would return. Would be nice if they told your upfront which days pool is closed.
Very cool and tech forward. Room comfy and good location. Pool was open one day and closed for private event on another. Front desk Staff looks overwhelmed somehow. No help with bags so don’t even ask for it. Food at restaurant just meh but decor unique. Service at restaurant was good.

United KingdomI felt like there was enough staff around on the ground floor to help with questions etc. No doormen/concierge etc. Only reception staff who were always very busy. The lift system was also a little confusing and tardy.
The hotel is beautifully new and the rooms are very comfortable. We had an incredible view of the Empire State Building from our room. The bar is lovely and the breakfast was very nice in the restaurant. Well located for getting around.

United States of AmericaTook a long time to be acknowledged at Everdene by anyone but the host, like 20 minutes? I waited both outside and inside, and no one even had a “hi, be right with you”. I work in the same industry, so I just tried to be understanding. I had borrowed a menu from a guest so had my order ready, only for them to not have an ingredient for it. I waited another 5-10 minutes while they looked, only for them to apparently forget what they were looking for. They found it and made it (and the drink was great, it was their chartreuse spin on a Rickey) and comped me for the wait. The next evening, I wanted to grab a drink or two while I figured out a late lunch. I ordered a martini and the first glass was unpolished and covered in lipstick. She poured it into a new glass which had a big chip in the rim. I pointed this out, and she noted it and just walked away, so after a few more minutes, I left without ever touching the drink. Disappointing from bartender to bartender as someone who has worked in hotels for half a decade and knows what it’s like to have a hard shift and demanding customer, but I just wanted to be acknowledged semi-quickly and not drink from a dirty or broken glass. I loved my experience at the pool bar though!!
I was traveling for my birthday, and after a particularly horrible experience with Booking.com, I was worried arrival wouldn’t go well either. BUT the front desk upgraded my room for my birthday, the morning barista/bartender gave me a small present and John at the pool was an absolute angel every morning. The location was incredible: the staff knew the area really well and had plenty of recommendations. My boyfriend has raved about the mattress and how well he slept to anyone and everyone, and the PATH train station was just two blocks away so he had an easy time coming to meet me (another point towards location)!

United KingdomThe room felt a little sparse and having the shower and toilet off the central entrance area with frosted doors didn't feel as sophisticated as the rest of the hotel - a bit functional. Not terrible though.
Loved the location - near train, office and central Manhattan. The pool was great to relax by at the start/end of the day. The bar/terrace had a great vibe.

AustraliaThe beds were new but too soft. The reception staff were not that helpful and friendly. The elevators didn't work all the time.
The hotel was brand new, modern and clean. We were upgraded to a room with an excellent view of the Empire State Building after our check-in was delayed by a few hours. The facilities were great, the pool was small but very cool. The location is very central, it's a bit too close to the Penn Station area which is not great, but a few blocks South is a great location.

United KingdomLift system & lights overly complicated. I imagine this would be challenging for older customers. Like most of New York there is a smell of cannabis from the street (not the hotels fault) when sitting at the open bar & pool.
Good location close to subway. Beds were extremely comfy. Rooms a good size for a city. Nice bathrooms. Our room had a city view (18th floor). As Virgin members we had a free drink in the bar each day from 4-5pm. Bonus was a small outdoor pool. This was busy in the afternoons.

United States of AmericaWhen asking for things to be brought to our room, multiple times we had to call and re request the items and wait up to an hour for them. Items like: coffee, creamer, towels, dental kit, new cups. That was disheartening.
It was a chic hotel. I loved the red accents everywhere. I liked the height of my room, the linens and towels were great. I liked the food at Everdene. It was pretty delicious.
