Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaYou could hear our neighbors in adjacent rooms. This was especially problematic when they came back to the room late (past 1am) and likely inebriated. Also, the drapes in our room didn't work. And it was odd that the indoor pool had to be closed when it was raining outside. Would have been nice to use the indoor pool / hottub when it was raining. Other than that, I thought the location was great, staff were friendly, and overall nice amenities.
Friendly staff.

RomaniaFirst we didn’t receive a room like in the pictures but one a bit bland. We requested the room like in the pictures and they gave us the room with wood paneling. But they invalidated our key card and we returned again to the front desk to get our luggages. Staff should ask us where are our luggages or at least help us move them. Anothe thing on the whole room experimce was that our first room was on the ground level and we needed to cross a long hallway, down two flights of stairs, and back to another long hallway. The other solution was usong the service entrence between the big service trucks. Those rooms should be much cheaper or they should make another entrence. (The elevator doesn’t go to the ground floor)
The location is great, in Colonial Williamsburg. Possibility to park in a parking garage is great. The onsite bars are great

United States of AmericaI wasn't aware that we would be charged $20/night for parking. That should be included in the price.
The Williamsburg Lodge is within walking distance of everything we want to see within the town.

United States of AmericaOur first room was disappointing, just a standard hotel room, and was surprisingly very expensive. A bug ran out of the room when the door was opened, so we had a very bad impression. The room was not meticulously clean either. Thankfully, the management definitely made up for this situation.
The breakfast was very good, with a good selection. Wait staff was quick and tried to serve efficiently so we could get on with our day! Management changed our room twice to make up for a bug incident. We wound up with a very nice upgrade which we were surprised to get! We truly appreciated their help and concern.

United States of AmericaMy son stopped at the front desk to pick up a parking pass. He felt the man at the desk wasn't particularly friendly. Also, with the digital check-in we think we missed a welcome packet.
Great waiter and host for breakfast. Friendly room service. Clean room. Good restaurant with very good staff. Great concierge. Nice snack room and waitress. Walking distance to colonial town, convenient. Super doormen.

If we can’t find a colonial house to stay in, this is our go to. Everything is great.

United States of AmericaWe wish Traditions had a Brunch menu instead of buffet. My wife and I were looking forward to eggs Benedict. I believe they should add it to the brunch menu.
We ate breakfast off-site but I did enjoy the grab and go coffee bar. The location could not have been better...right in the heart of colonial Williamsburg.

United States of AmericaThe pillows were a bit uncomfortable. Bed is very firm, but uncomfortable. Hair dryer was very old and difficult to use. Bar area was on an hour wait to be seated. Needs a more dedicated bar, that does not include its restaurant. Can't imagine this in peak season. Overall not sure almost $500 night was worth the money.
Location was very good, easy to walk the entire area, including the college. Very clean and lots of space. Lovely grounds to walk or run.

United States of AmericaOverpriced for a normal hotel experience. The restaurants attached to the hotel, we’re overpriced with poor service. Traditions restaurant breakfast buffet is a complete ripoff. $25 per person for a breakfast buffet full of food you get complimentary at other hotels.

United States of Americaour toilet had issues with flushing. We were very sad that the Sweat Tea and Barley restaurant wasn’t open on Monday. we asked staff if their were any festivities planned for Saturday 10/29/22 as we saw pumpkins around the town and kids in costume, staff said there were no Halloween events except for the haunted tours. we sadly found out the next day that the pumpkins were all gone and that men dressed up the horses and rode through the town and kids trick-or-treated. absolutely nothing was going on Halloween night.
the property is very pristine. I love that it is walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. the buffet breakfast was yummy and hat lots of options. Staff was friendly. very clean amenities!
