Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesParking was a nightmare. It is difficult to get in & out of traffic to the garage. Once inside, there was a line of parked cars on the ramp because the garage was full, but for some reason they kept letting people in anyway. The attendants didn't seem to have answers/solutions other than to leave my keys and they would eventually park my car. There are signs telling you to let them know you're a hotel guest, but nothing telling you you need to get your parking ticket stamped in the hotel lobby...so I had to make a trip back up to get the stamp (& the discount parking rate for guests). The room was large, but aside from the view, there wasn't anything fancy about it for the $350+ price tag.
The view was spectacular. The location was convenient for what I was in town for. Staff was pleasant when I had questions. The check-in/out process was easy enough. Parking available onsite for a fee. Shower had great water pressure & water was hot.

United KingdomBreakfast lacked choice . No fried eggs ,only one cereal and the so- called pastry basket was one pastry and 2 slices of toast which is just laughable !! Outside areas were closed two days we were there ..one day for a " private party " and the other due to light rain ..surely some canopes or umbrella stands could be organised?
Funky decor and cool mood lighting ,movable bed from sleeping position to sit up position cleanliness , location . Reception staff were lovely, especially Dan View from our 23rd floor room was amazing

RomaniaThe room was very small, but worst of all is that the bathroom door is not closing completely. Another thing that we didn't like is that we were asked 12$ to deposit our luggage in the luggage room for just 4 hours. They do have a robot there but probably is just for show because we haven't seen anyone use it.
The location is great, very close to Times Square and easy to get around by walking and metro.

FranceVery bad cigarette smell in the room, we had to keep the window open all day long. The A/C is not working good. It was 28ºc when we arrived and even after a day of max speed and lowest temperature possible, the room was at 27ºc… Consider this if your come in the summer Ambient LED light is nice, but there is no other light in the room. It’s pretty dark
Amazing localisation, 10min walk from time square and the subway station. Nice view in every room, loved the shower. Staff was very nice, thanks for that

United StatesHouse keeping only does a surface level cleaning. I still saw dirt build up on the light switches & counter tops in my hotel room. The bathroom floor in my hotel room had foot prints & actual gravel. Indicating someone walked on the floor while it was still wet. I kept finding long strands of blonde hair in my hotel bed sheets. My hair is black & I was the only one staying in that room
I liked the helpfulness of the staff. The quietness of my floor. I liked that it was in an area with restaurants & stores. Also a few blocks from Times Square

IrelandThe room I paid for approx €850. A single room. Which I would describe as a student dorm room. As I walked into the room. Toilet, stand in shower and sink along the right side wall. A single bed against the window. There was a mark on the floor. Paid for my breakfast as I didn’t included in my price. But the scrambled eggs were luck warm. Menu price $22. Then additional tax so $24. Then I paid $98 for a car provided by the Yotel. Upon arrival I was charged additional $20. Which wasn’t included in the original price. So be mindful.

United StatesA few dangerous things for kids: the knob to the door to bathroom has screw exposed and can be pulled out, the windows open so wide a baby can fall through, and no locks on doors. I asked for extra sheets and towels at reservation and day of stay, never got them. The staff showed us how to get to parking garage, but never told us about stamping ticket to save $20. Cleanliness should have been better, there is mold in cieling of shower and there were fingerprints on windows, mirrors, etc.

United StatesWhat I did not like about the property is that I was racially profiled by the bag checking guy when I was re-entering the hotel after a long evening and being very tired. When I entered the hotel and got in the elevator to go back up to my room the bag guy forcefully stopped the elevator and would not let go of the elevator door with his hands until I showed him “proof” that I was a guest in the hotel after I already told him multiple times and I was in and out of the hotel multiple times this day. Also there were 2 people of a different race that entered when I did and he didn’t stop them or say anything to them, he let them go but chose to say something to me. I really don’t appreciate this at all and because of it I most likely will not be staying here in the future.
What I liked about the hotel was the style, comfort, location of the hotel, and the front desk staff.
