Absolutely loved the room! Check-in was easy - we had to go to the reception next door at the 'sister' hotel'. The style and decor were lovely and welcoming. Everything was clean and tidy, and the view outside our window was stunning. This is a great place to stay - very close to the town centre, right next to a parking lot so you can park your car with ease, and it's just around the corner there is a laundromat if you need.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Pillows were not great but that is a me preference rather than the hotels issue. Plenty of parking. WIFI was easy to access but slow at times. Staff were all friendly and helpful at all times. Great choice of food and drink. Location excellent. Not stayed here before but would certainly revisit.

I was attending a College reunion at what is now the University of Cumbria.
I started at the college - then called Charlotte Mason College - to train as a teacher 50 years ago.
Having lived there in 1974 - 1977 there are obviously a lot of changes in the town but there is still a good mix of old and new.

A very nice area.
A very nice area. Did plenty of walking around in the country which was grand. Driving is a little bit of a pain due to the single track roads in some areas but it is to be expected with such an area and is part of what allows it to be such a good place for walking.

Commercial centre with plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. It’s lively with constant traffic, so not a place for peace and quiet, but that can be found in other places (many just a short walk away). I like to stay in Ambleside for the amenities.

Everywhere in the hotel was very clean and decorated very nicely. The food was lovely. The afternoon tea was outstanding. The bedroom was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was exceptionally dog friendly. The grounds were lovely. Overall, a nice hotel and we really enjoyed our stay.
Easy to find. Great location with parking. Good to walk into Ambleside for restaurants in the evening. Great starting point for exploring the area. Very clean and everything you would need available!
The location is fab the staff go beyond and above we bring our dog Bella staffy they are very dog friendly we always enjoy our stays at the Ambleside inn we will be back
Dark and dingy interior and limited bar menu. Had not appreciated Hotel was so dog friendly, to the extent there was a vast array of dog treats available over the bar.
