I have been visiting it for 30 years it's like my second home. I always try new restaurants and pubs. I love bus hopping as my mobility is not good. The 508 over Kirkstone pass is my favourite. I found a little Italian restaurant in Windermere call San Pietro the staff and food were excellent. Can't believe I haven't spotted it before. We be back in a few months time.

Loads of restaurants and eateries, many providing evening entertainment Even a theatre. We hired an electric boat for a day which was great fun. Also walked up to Brant Fell. A short but very steep hike. Amazing views over the lake and towards the mountains.

We've been to Bowness on Windermere quite a few times over the years and always stayed at Storrs Hall hotel. We decided to stay at a different hotel on our last trip which came right up to our expectations. Bowness on Windermere is always a nice place to visit and full of good restaurants. We tried a Thai restaurant for an evening meal on main street. Excellent as was our visit.

The lake view from the room was excellent.

The lake view from the room was excellent. The food was good, service at dinner a wait to be served 1-30 minutes plus, the worst service anywhere. £20 per night car park excessive I sliver of bacon one egg & a sausage plus a miniscule milk jug for coffee ranks as below par. Sadly will give this chain of hotels a miss in the future.

Bowness is a very touristy town full of gift shop, bars and restaurants. While in the summer it might be too commercial for many, off-season we found it just right, bustling but not too crowded. While commercialised it does retain a Lake District charm and it's not hard to find good bars and restaurants, and bus and ferry transport is plentiful.

It’s a great place to wander around with many attractions and plenty to do. Boat trips around the lake from the piers offer a good and reasonable priced adventures. In mid-September it was still very much open and busy but not too crowded.

The apartment is centrally located in Bowness on Windermere. Close to shops and very handy to lake Windermere. It contained everything we needed for our two night stay which was very comfortable. Ashley provided detailed instructions on how to access the apartment as well providing parking during our stay. We enjoyed walks around the village and taking ferry rides on the lake
