The staff is amazing! Constance had stellar hiking recommendations, Penny was really friendly, and the gentleman there during the days had amazing restaurant tips. They were so helpful and all took the time to chat about their favorite local spots. It really made my trip.

The downtown area looks like a typical Cruise destination.
The downtown area looks like a typical Cruise destination. Lots of shops with 10000 tee shirts, but some nice and expensive ones as well. Lobster rolls are the big thing, but pricey.'The best restaurants are not the town center, they are outside.

The time spent was on the opening shoulder season.
The time spent was on the opening shoulder season. The price was awesome and the staff as well. If you want a 100% of all the facilities just wait a few weeks and you will have some great extras. Perfect distance from Bar Habor as you are in your own small hamlet

Lovely coastal town free of chain restaurants!!
Lovely coastal town free of chain restaurants!! All the shops and restaurants seemed locally owned and unique to the area. We enjoyed lots of seafood like fresh lobster, clam chowder and lobster bisque. Be sure to walk the coastal path and take a harbor cruise! We loved flying Cape Air from Boston to Bar Harbor to see the coast and islands--just be sure to pick up your luggage in Boston and bring it to the Cape Air terminal! Restaurants we liked-- Geddy's, Ben & Bills Chocolate Emporium for ice cream/gelato/fudge, Stewman's, Bar Harbor Lobster Pound --they had outdoor games, too! Of course, don't miss Acadia National Park and Abel's Lobster right by the yacht yard--great outdoor ambiance!!

We enjoyed sunrises at Cadillac Mountain, crossing the bar at low tide, hiking the Beehive, the Bubbles, and Acadia Mountain, and walking on a small portion of the carriage roads.
Bar Harbor had great food, but it was tough to get into the restaurants. Our favorite was the Side Street Cafe.
We went in late October. Pros - lower crowds. Con - water activities and some restaurants were already closed for the season.

We loved Gaylns restaurant, excellent food.
We loved Gaylns restaurant, excellent food. Whole belly clams were terrific at the Thirsty Whale. You can walk just about every where. The Sightseeing & Nature Cruise with Acadian Nature Cruises was worth taking.
Absolutely loved the location - very central to Bar Harbor downtown. Additionally, the property, our room, and its decor were lovely. We were fascinated by how well Camalyne maintained the property and ensured her guests have a comfortable stay. Check-in was hassle-free - much simpler than hotel rooms in fact. The wifi worked well and the bed was super-comfortable. Our host also served us an excellent, sumptuous breakfast the next day. Overall - we highly recommend this place for your stay! I wish we booked another night.
I enjoyed so many things about our stay! Prime location in Bar Harbor, minutes from Acadia National Park, the staff was always warm and welcoming, etc. My favorite part was the attention to detail and investment staff made in each guest experience. A wide variety of breakfast options, 24/7 hot chocolate/coffee/apple cider, laundry availability, and they would even leave hiking snacks and fresh fruit out for us before we left for the day! Definitely one of the best hotel experiences I have had.
The room was basic but stocked with everything you need - a bit older, but quite clean and the beds were comfortable. The view from the balcony was lovely and was the reason I booked this hotel - every room has a balcony and ocean view. The hot breakfast served was one of the better I've had from a hotel with a wide variety. The staff was very friendly and I like that the hotel has a shuttle to take guests to the downtown area of Bar Harbor. Thanks for the great stay!
Fantastic location- very short walk into downtown Bar Harbor, very short drive to Acadia National Park. The best part about it was the people- Christopher, Constance and Penny were so warm, welcoming and helpful! I felt like I was staying with friends! The light breakfast options in the lobby, fresh baked cookies every afternoon, coffee all day and water bottle filler were all unexpected and so nice! The room was large and easily accommodated our party of 4.
Atlantic Oceanside is our first choice when staying in Bar Harbor. The property sits directly on the ocean with wonderful views from every room. Located perfectly between downtown and the main entrance to Acadia National Park, it offers quiet and close proximity to everything. Hotel staff are exceptionally friendly and service oriented. The food at breakfast and at the Bistro is excellent. All this plus a warm pool and hot tub completes a great vacation!
Room was very clean and fresh. Staff were amazing both very friendly, helpful, gave us suggestions. Breakfast choices were very nice and getting to pick what time you wanted to eat and they delivered directly to your room. Loved the outside table and chairs where we ate breakfast every morning. Loved that they have quiet time from 9 pm to 9 am so we were able to rest and relax a lot. Location close to National Park and downtown.
While this is a budget stay, we thought it was wonderful. Beautiful views of downtown Bar Harbor and within walking distance. Quick drive to Acadia National Park. Free coffee, delicious breakfast with a view, firepits, and great ambiance with the evening piano and drinks in The Great Room. They even had a heated pool but we didn’t get a chance to use it this trip. Also very pet friendly! My dog loved exploring the property.
Perfect location to access the ANP and Bar Harbor. Friendly and helpful staff! Communications with the team at Hanscom's was the best I've experienced. They checked with us several times before our arrival, made sure we had everything we needed to get in the room and we're very responsive when we had questions or issues. Also loved that this is a "Pet Friendly" location. NOT always easy to find and we loved this!
The motel was an excellent choice for our 3 days in Bar Harbor. The island shopper bus picked up at the hotel for downtown shopping and eating. The setting was very rustic and relaxing. The rooms were very roomy and well kept and smelled so good when you returned from your daily outings. The breakfast had a variety of very good choices. Overall I was very pleased with the Bar Harbor Motel.
The rooms were clean. The breakfast was nice. The hotel is right outside Acadia National Park, but not too far. I don't think you would want to walk into town for dinner--we had a car. On Wednesdays and Fridays they have smores for the fire from 7-8. That was a fun special touch! We really enjoyed that little extra. They have popcorn on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
our room was very clean and loved that we had a mini fridge and comfy beds. staff was friendly and helpful. walls seemed to be pretty well soundproofed. and you cannot beat the location! walking to downtown instead of driving was the best! also very close to Acadia National Park where we hiked. would definitely stay here next time we’re in Bar Harbor!
We loved the location of this hotel. It was about a 10-15 drive into Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. The facilities were clean and the staff was extremely friendly. Other than that, we really enjoyed our room! Would definitely recommend staying here!
I have been in bar harbor several times now and this is one of the hotels with the best view if you get a well positioned 4th floor room. The view at sunrise is amazing so if you go there to enjoy the sunrise is one of the best place you can get!
Very close to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. Parking across from the room was also very convenient. Cleaner was very creative with towel and toilet tissue decorations. Great job. Loved having outside seating and a table and chairs inside, too.
I liked the location of the Inn. It was in walking distance of the downtown area and the Harbor. It was extremely convenient for what we wanted to do. It was also located near shopping and businesses that we wanted to visit.
Property location was close in proximity to both downtown Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park. Staff was very accommodating to our request of a later check out. Variety of items available on the continental breakfast.
Large room with ample furniture, comfortable bed, very conveniently located so that we could walk everywhere in downtown Bar Harbor. Plenty of parking on site.
