Lovely adventure spot nestled among beautiful karst mountains, sinkhole swiming spots and limestone caves. The town itself is nothing remarkable but does have a lot of young traveler energy, which is fun.

The landscape and settings are great.
The landscape and settings are great. You can get there with the new fast train. The Chinese built the train stations and they all are far away from town, not sure why. Vang Vieng is very popular with fun sports very young people including lots of Brits and Aussies. Not the best food I had, try out GOAT for Vietnamese.

It has a good night street food central to many hostels.
It has a good night street food central to many hostels. Nature, including the river and mountains, they are great. Moreover the tours you must be careful about which ones you pick the prices are generally similar but many of them are different they use different areas for particular activities like zip lining or the blue pool they are actually like five Blue pools don't go to number one because it's very small and it has a ton of people that is quote the cheapest pool to go to. So ask to see pictures of their different things because as you can see there are different company names like wonderful or Jackie or seven or whatever there are tons of them and they have their own teams and they run their own thing some are better than others and I went to one from seven and it was okay well isn't the greatest experience but it was okay.

This is a popular destination for backpackers and young people. There is no shortage of bars, restaurants, and food carts. There are many types of recreational activities and tour operators but it’s easy to reach hiking trails and lagoons on your own. Phangeun - Silver Cliff - was worth the hike!

We stayed there for about one week and tried also two hotels in this time.
Vang Vieng is very beautil und it takes a while to discover the different beautiful places here. Best option is to rent a motorcycle. And for some view points you have to be an well physical condition to reach them.
In Vang Vieng we tried a lot of restaurants and different food and just one restaurant was very disappointing for my Lao wife and me...
We liked the Namphet Restaurant.. its a bit hidden behin a bridge.. but you will have a beautival view to the river and very good food..
what we didnt like was the behaviour of this crowds of chinese tourists.. they behave like laos is disneyworld

General a nice town with lots of restaurants, bars and a really nice nature around. BUT: totally overrun by tourists, especially Chinese. Cycling to the hills outside town will result in lots of traffic due to hundreds of stinky, rectles buggys and vans shutteling tourists from lagoon to lagoon. The lagoons are overfilled with people, the river with kayaks.
Once you arrived a Hill to climb or a cave to explore, it gets much quieter.
All in all: Beautiful nature around town once you reach it, but be ready to deal with mass tourism.
A great option in Vang Vieng for us. Cheap, well located and a convenient breakfast in the morning. The staff were amazingly helpful with trips etc and gave us free water liberally at any occasion. They don’t take payment cards but were more than happy to moped me to their sister hotel to make payments for tours which was very helpful. Lovely lovely people. The room was basic and inline with what we paid. Brilliant value in a central location. Nothing to complain about
my room at Vang Vieng Charming Boutique Hotel was a delightful blend of comfort and elegance. The decor reflected local craftsmanship with a modern twist, creating a cozy yet luxurious atmosphere. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after days filled with adventure. Notably, the room boasted a balcony offering unparalleled views of the limestone cliffs, allowing for moments of reflection and relaxation amidst nature's grandeur.
Super helpful owners who can assist with booking bikes, transport, etc. Bungalow was simple but clean, equipped with the best mattress I have encountered so far in Laos. Stunning landscape views from the garden, perfect for watching the hot air balloons at dusk and down. Location was a but further away from the bulk of restaurants and shops but this meant it was very quiet. Laundry service was quick, cheap, and thorough. Wi-Fi was good.
Really good hostel! The room very nice and clean , Would definitely recommend! Staff were helpful and friendly, Especially manager Micheal helping us with visa and cheaper flights to Vietnam . They have a chill out lobby very nice ( you able play snooker games, Karaoke, foosball ) , excellent location in Vang vieng town . Met lots of great people here and had an excellent time - it is a very social place. Would stay here again .
Amazing hotel! So nice I already extended my stay here. The hotel just opened 5-6 weeks ago but the owner and staff are all top notch, they've treated me like family. From the rooftop bar to motorcycle rental to fast wifi (a rarity in Laos), everything you need is already here. And the breakfast is delicious too, with a nice chef ready to make your eggs or pho just the way you like it 😝
Vang vieng Champa a small hotel and new. Room clean, big and comfortable bed. we like this place very quiet at night can walk to visit all things in vangvieng. Ben was special he will help everything you needed. Fesh and big breakfast . This place was best room and breakfast we got at Laos but much cheaper than Luangprabang and Vientiane. good choise at Vang vieng.
The hotel in central it close everything. The staff was so nice and burn for themself, they make me feel like home. Receptionist he so kind to helprd everything while I staying there. Room was big with excellent view from the balcony. The pool is plus can use anytime. I'll recommend it to everyone who would like to be Laos in the future.

Nice view from room. I love this mountain view in a quiet place. Basic facilities but rather cheap in Vang Vieng. Wifi speed was fast. Hotel owner is a kind and helpful man. I am really enjoyable because i have no complaint about Vang Vieng Camellia Hotel. I am sure to return this hotel if i am planning to visit VV again.
Location is good, not central but ideal to avoid the sometimes overwhelming town. 15 minutes on foot or half by bicycle avalable at the Hotel. The view is great. The room was good with minor issues, but common in Laos.
The manager is very helpful and can assist with booking activities or any other situation.
It's new, so it doesn't have many reviews, but you can totally trust it.
The whole room is very nice and spacious, like in pictures and for a very cheap price. The bed is the best we had in Laos/Vietnam. You also get towels for free. The host is friendly and welcoming. Came for one night and stayed 2 more.
This the best hotel to stay at Vang vieng town . Cheap just over 10$ but room clean , comfortable and with Breakfast many fresh fruit with some menu for hot cook. Staff welcoming us we have bus at 2pm they gave us latte check out until 1pm . The manager he was great can help you any info about Laos .
VangVieng Chanthala Hotel offers a comfortable and convenient stay in the heart of Vang Vieng, Laos. The hotel's location provides easy access to the town's attractions, including the stunning karst landscape, Nam Song River, and vibrant local markets.

The location is great- near the main street and Nana hostel but still a quite and calm place . They have great swimming pool with a nice garden around and free breakfast. The best part is the price-cheaper than dorms!!
The best value for money hotel in Vang Vieng. The cleanliness is good.. Above all, the service from the staff is the best. Great swimming pool chill for the day and good rooftop view.
The lady manager was very friendly and helpful. Just state your withes clear and maybe plan a bit ahead. The breakfast was fine (not great but you are in a cheap place in Laos).
Very clean hostel. The beds are comfortable and spacious. there is a bar and pool area where you can rest and eat. The staff is really lovely. The best hostel I had in Laos.
