FAQs about hotels in Vancouver

Outstanding Capital of the Outdoors

Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.

Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.

Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.

With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.

We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.

It’s an amazing city which has a lot to offer. The town is beautiful with multiple activities, the food scene is amazing. Downtown for stay works really well but the homeless/ drive problem is extreme with most streets occupied and creates a safety concern while walking.

The city has something for everyone: museums, nature (parks (Stanley Park), gardens, ocean (all around), Granville Island. For the exercise enthusiasts there is: skiing/ hiking (Squamish & Whistler Mountains)/ mountain biking/ biking/ kayaking/ stand-up-paddleboard, swimming (Kitsilano Beach), walking... It is easy to get around (Canada Line, buses, trams, Hop on Hop off, biking, walking, Uber, taxis....The scenery is spectacular, including the ocean and the mountains.

Recommend people to booking some tours as everything is taken care of. We did the city bus tour (Vancouver lookout, Stanley Park & Granville Island), day trip to capilano suspension bridge and Grouse Mountain, boat cruise on the harbour, day trip to Squamish and Whistler.

Great City with a good vibe. Weather is variable therefore plans can be impacted. We did trip to Whistler/Sqamish but grey day spoilt views. Trip to Victoria on Vancouver Island was great, made even better by the sun shining for the most part. Butchart Gardens were amazing.

It was nice to ride around Stanley Park on a bike, learn about the history and the view from Vancouver Lookout in Harbor Center. It was incredible to tour Granville Island and eat something at the market, walk along the beaches. I missed seeing the Lynn Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain, which look spectacular.

Vancouver - easy public transport from airport, use Canada Line metro direct to Waterfront (25mins). Fares for seniors: CAN$ 8.75 INTO city (Fri pm) & CAN$ 2,15 back - a bargain (Sat AM 3wks later). Waterfront metro staff -very helpful by simple-to-use automatic kiosks. Walk to Stanley Park along from Waterfront & go see the Totem poles via multi-use cycle and walking lanes, busy. If you walk back on W Pender Street, there's a drugstore (with food) and a liquor store towards Waterfront. Great supermarket (especially for supplies if flying Air Canada on budget VYR-Toronto flights with NO food served) named Loblaws City Market is located at 658 Homer Street - sell superb & huge pre-prepped salads $20 and big subway rolls$8. Walk to Yaletown Brewery (, Midland Street, vibrant area, 5 blocks N of Loblaws supermarket) for flight of 4 beers, $14.

Central location in a clean part of downtown Vancouver, and very close to Canada Place. It is surrounded by an array of eateries and coffee shops. Major tourist attractions are within easy walking distance. The concierge Randy and the early morning concierge deserve to be acknowledged for their friendliness and helpfulness. This hotel is lucky to have these concierges as they give a great first impression to travelers of the hotel and what to expect

The property is located in the center of Vancouver, walking distance from restaurants and the waterfront. The room was very comfortable and had a great bathroom and shower. The staff was super nice and available to suggest restaurants and activities. The parking is right inside the building and we were also allowed to keep the car inside past checkout time. The hotel is located in a historic building and a stop for tours!

Bus at the front door to the station. SkyTrain to the airport, Richmond market, Waterfront in downtown and many other connections on this line. Closer to BV Ferries terminal by bus than going on a tour from downtown for Victoria island. Small studio appointment but ideal for holiday travellers exploring Vancouver and surrounds. Modern facilities and easy access. Small balcony if you wish to use but overlooks a major road.

The view and location: the Waterfront area is wonderful with a relaxed vibe. There's an Urban Fare across the street where you can buy a coffee and sandwich or just go into their supermarket. Both downtown and Stanley Park are at (12-20 minutes) walking distance. Ubering to North Vancouver (best parks) wasn't too expensive and took about 25 minutes as well. Would 100% recommend to stay here.

Upscale area, probably the best street in Vancouver (which has a lot of sketchy streets/ homeless/ drug abusers in full view.) Hotel could do with a bit of a makeover as it is upscale but a bit old fashioned in decor. But no real complaints, we liked it a lot.Nice toiletries.
