Super friendly staff - the receptionist was very patient with my terrible French! The breakfast was excellent, probably the best we had on our entire trip to France. The music studio was a great surprise and it was so fun to relax and play some songs together. The entire hotel had interesting art and design that made for a unique experience.

Lovely, charming city. Small and manageable, easy to navigate on foot, full of lovely shops, bistros, and boulangeries. Perfect location to take day trips to other wonderful spots in Brittany. The people in the shops were friendly and helpful. We loved it!

It's really pleasant to live in the city. Rennes is not like Paris but there is everything you need to live and enjoy yourself. The center of the city is full of fun with beautiful old buildings and churches. You can also find modern facilities for your convenience. I loved the beautiful city of Rennes.

Only stayed 1 day - could perhaps have added a day.
Only stayed 1 day - could perhaps have added a day. Rennes is very car un-friendly! Lots of cycle lanes, some quite narrow streets; lots of one-way streets that lead nowhere 9so you enter the one=way system and after a couple of minutes you end up back where you started - and there are no optional turns out of this system!
That said, once parked and on foot, very pleasant indeed.. We also had very nice weather - late-mid September.
Good restaurants - we ate at a creperie for lunch which was good and at an unpreposing restaurant for dinner which was very good,

The city had beautiful screet scape, shops and cafes and an amazing park all within walking distance. The local were friendly and prices generally in eating venues was reasonable. Rennes having a metro is an excellent asset allowing a lot of walking knowing you can double back by train if you plan your exploration direction to suit the metro stops. The staff at the metro station offered very helpful assistance without prompting helping to understand the ticketing system and ticket purchase process.

Vibrant city with many historical landmarks to explore within a compact area which is easily accessible on foot. Some lovely medieval buildings mixed in with more modern buildings.
A variety of shops and restaurants of different types to try.
Room is spare but clean & comfortable; 1 task chair. Breakfast had good food & variety. Location across the street from le Gare. Convenience store next door. NO WI-FI! Staff speaks minimum English.
RENNES: worst tourist maps imaginable. Tourist bureau should be fired en masse!! AND THERE ARE NO TAXIs IN RENNES!!!! Saw dozens of tourists at every intersection staring alternately at “maps” and street signs, trying to navigate on foot. Arrived back at hotel exhausted and footsore. We won’t go back to Rennes- EVER!!!!
Clean, modern but best of all was the location. In easy walking distance of everything in the centre. Rennes itself is such a great place to visit. We spent two nights there exploring and there was plenty to see and do. It really has a vibe about it. There’s a break bar right opposite the hotel on a corner which was a great place to sit, chat and people watch. On the same corner, there was a lower down place which was great for coffee and breakfast.
Location was fine if you do have a car and can’t stay nearer the old town. We like walking and didn’t mind the 20 minutes or so walk in and out.
The price was ok - but I think it should have included breakfast for this particular level of hotel. However there are a couple of cafes nearby the station which do a formule for breakfast - omelette, juice and coffee for around €7.
Excellent location in relation to the train station and the attractions of the medieval centre of Rennes. The close proximity of the Carrefour was handy. The hotel staff were excellent: welcoming, helpful, and very patient with our beginner French. The small garden courtyard was a nice retreat area for cheese and wine, or to read. Great breakfast!
Very nice studio in the center of Rennes, housed in the ancient building with the athmosphere of old town. Entry into the appartment from the inner yard guranteed feeling of privacy. Wonderful view from the appartment on the small square with rennaissance. Appartment was nicely refurbished and decorated with a taste. We had a very good time there.
It had the perfect location: linked to the Gare Sud in Rennes. Fantastic if you just stay for a couple of days, as you get connections to Paris or Mont Saint Michel or everything you need. Also, walking distance to the center of Rennes. The room is large, the breakfast has a very good selections of food and beverages.
A lovely, small, quirky hotel based in this handsome, historic house in the heart of Rennes' old town. Friendly host. Our room was magnificent, enormous, wooden floored and atmospheric. We had the most wonderful meal at Estime, a restaurant a couple of doors down from the hotel; highly recommend!
Note you should come out side of Gare de Rennes..on the Taxi side or use exit Gare Routire..bus side
Note the outside of the hotel does not looking appealing..but everything inside functions extremely well..luggage rack and BBC tv
Important..it has a lift..eleavtor
The hotel is beautiful, located on the edge of the old town center (5-10 min walk to the very center) and conveniently close to the railway station. And the restaurant - very tastily decorated and the food was superb. All highly recommended.
The location near the train station was very comfortable since we wanted to explore some cities near Rennes too. The hotel was quiet, bed was comfortable and staff kind and helpful. We appreciated that there was a kettle in the room.
The staff was friendly and helpful. They facilitated lunch and dinner reservations and provided us with umbrellas on rainy days. The hotel is well located making it easy to get to the train station, airport, and around Rennes.
We stayed at the Anne de Bretagne en route to the South West of France. We arrived late and left early, but we were warmly welcomed and the rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean and exactly what we were looking for.
Location is excellent-- close to the city center, only a few steps of walking, but the hotel itself is very quite. You can be sure to have a good sleep. The parking is very easy to access and sufficient places available.
We're just starting our trip through France and I am sure our stay at Castel Jolly will be one of the highlights of our trip. It exceeded our expectations and Marie is a fantastic B&B hostess. Every detail was covered .
Location was excellent for a stop over during a road trip in France. Has dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was very good with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was also good with lots of choice.
Excellent location. Short walking distance from the Rennes train station, from which one can take day trips by train to explore Brittany. The property is clean and the rooms modern.
