The weather in Puerto Vallarta is amazing. We have been in Puerto Vallarta in 2023 and again in 2024 (10 day trips each year) and the weather is a sunny copy-paste every single day. Make sure to also visit old Vallarta, it has shopping, good food and night life! Nuevo Vallarta is amazing and more relaxing, but there are not as many things to do. It depends what you're looking for!

We only walked around after getting to Centro/Zona Romantica. We were able to walk to several great beaches, amazing restaurants, lookouts over the city, markets, etc. We never got to all of the restaurants and activities that we wanted to do! There is so much! The sunsets from the malecon are not to be missed!

There are a host of places to stay in Puerto Vallarta. But, they vary in quality. I strongly recommend the the Hyatt Zeva, Puerto Vallarta. This is an all inclusive venue. The facilities are excellent, well maintained and beautiful! I love an April visit. It is the end of the High Season. There are fewer guests, and the weather is very pleasant. The beach (Playa del Holi) is just a few hundreds meters away and easily accessible via a street behind the mall. Although the beach is more to sunbath and relax and less to swim due to low water quality (a river just flows into the ocean).
