Location ! Incredible, we could walk to all of the restaurants and bars (recommend the pirate place & Charlie’s Beach for brekkie). Mission Beach is a super cool town. There was a farmers market across the street from the hotel on Sunday morning.

Beautiful rainforest setting. Amazing waking up to all the birds. Even had a Cassowary wander past our bungalow. Easy walk to the stunning beach looking out to Dunk Island. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful surroundings and great hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Great breakfast with homemade bread and jams which where excellent. Even got to see cassowary birds roaming around the property.

I like the fact you are greeted at the start of your experience, we were given a tour of our stay and everything around us explained in a short well presented brief. I liked that the discussions were just spoken but there was interaction to both of us and not just towards one person. I liked that someone had taken the time to target all the areas of detail, everytime I thought there should be this, there was in a draw, cupboard or mounted in the wall. Very very impressed.

    Lovely tropical beach destination with lots of foodie...

    Lovely tropical beach destination with lots of foodie choices and a great beach. There were roadworks and excavations going on bang in the middle of the busy centre when I visited but didn’t spoil the experience. It will be even prettier once all work is done. I had a cold beer on arrival at the tavern everyone raved about but decided to have a local beer brewed on site at the Garage Bar & Brew. The black pearl ale was great and I ordered the moreton bay bug which was on special and it was scrumptious and to die for! The cocktail list is impressive and looked great but I didn’t sample. Lastly I recommend having breakfast at Johalia.. lovely ladies and the big breakfast was indeed big and delicious.

    I visit Mission Beach every year with my family.

    I visit Mission Beach every year with my family. A sleepy little costal town where the rainforest meets the beach. From boutique shops to quaint beachside cafes its the perfect place for a quiet getaway. Access to tropical islands, rainforest walks and the Great Barrier Reef are just a few things to do in Mission Beach. And don't forget to keep an eye out for the infamous Cassowary!

    Licuala Lodge was an outstanding property and John & Guillem were perfect hosts. Attention to detail was excellent and you were quickly relaxed and made to feel welcome. The room contained everything you needed and there was an excellent guest lounge as a bonus. Breakfast was worth travelling for and you ate overlooking magnificent gardens full of birdlife and butterflies. Cassowaries and curlews were regular visitors. Thanks John & Guillem for providing such a superb finish to our holiday. Bill & Judy

    Mission beach is sleepy village.

    Mission beach is sleepy village. Has great environment information building in township by shops. Saw cassowary bird. A flightless bird much like an emu or ostrich. Nature walks everywhere but swimming only in stinger net area if going in water or at surf patrolled area.

    Mission Beach retains its natural beauty through great maintenance of the tropical gardens, clean seating areas and public facilities. Shops offer well priced merchandise and pleasant staff. The beach provides a lovely children's playground, great walks, amazing views. The Sunday market provides an array of goods, gifts, seafood, so many beautiful items, really great.

    Mission Beach is beautiful lovely 14 kms long stretch of sandy beach great for adults and kids alike . Safe for swimming long walks and depending on the time of year delightful weather. It has a range of eateries shops and a Woolworths supermarket pubs and tavern . If u happen to be there when the Sunday market is on its well worth a visit. Caravan parks camping and bungalows

    We often travel to Mission Beach for work and always try to book into the Mission Reef Resort, if they have a vacancy as it a popular place to stay. Great location near the beach, the gardens, surroundings and units are kept immaculately clean and tidy. Value for money, comfortable beds and furnishings. Great for families with BBQ area and pool, also just across the road from the water park.

It is located across the road from the beach in a quiet part of Mission Beach, and close to the shops, cafes and restaurants. The breakfast was wonderful, the decor and furnishings were beautiful, and the hosts provided helpful information and we’re very welcoming. We had a wonderful stay.
