Very nicely furnished. We had everything we needed for a wonderful stay.
There wasn't a single thing wrong. From the place, to the location, the host, avaliable conveniences while being isolated to relax.
The pool outside brings everything to an 11. Enjoying the warmth with the cold outside while gazing at the stars, just what the doctor ordered.

Bad experience with the Bakkaflöt Guesthouse.
Bad experience with the Bakkaflöt Guesthouse.
We updated our arrival time, but the hotel did not give a reply. During check in, we showed our reservation letter to a elder staff, but she said no:( and was not friendly. They did also not inform us gate will be closed and the room key can't open the gate!. Because of puncture, we came back to the hotel around 1 o'clock in the morning and the gate was closed. We have to call the staff. Fortunately, that elder staff came to open the gate, but she seemed unhappy and blamed us when we check out.

It’s perfect for a family trip around Iceland.
It’s perfect for a family trip around Iceland. We stay here for five nights. While we were here we rested from our trip around the South. After a resting day we visited the North attractions such as Dettiffos, Godaffos, Myvatn, Grettislaug, and we even managed to visit Grimsey.

Beautiful valley surrounded by mountains and very close to the sea. Rural setting with restaurants and groceries a short drive away. I must return for a longer visit someday. Do not miss Grettislaug, Glaumbaer and dinner at KK Restaurant in Saudárkrókur. Still much to explore.
A very nicely, stylish and comfy guesthouse with tasteful interior. A rare find in Iceland. It feels like a home or a good hotel.
The rooms and bathrooms were super clean, two kitchens available for cooking, WiFi is fast and the hotpots looked nice — we arrived too late to give it a try.
This makes the price-quality-ratio pretty good for a night. In comparison to many Icelandic guest houses where you can easily feel ripped or , this is a nice positive surprise. Recommended!
This place is amazing… was our best choice in Iceland. I wish we can have more days there.
The owners are so friendly. We include breakfast in our stay and was AMAZING. The tastiest breakfast we ever ate in hotel. Homemade Icelandic breakfast includes everything. We
Highly recommend 💕💕💕💕💕 stay in two rooms apartment and was a full equipped house. With everything we need for those two days! Hopefully we will be back soon to this place!!!
This little, lovely house is very clean and comfortable, stands near the Hringvegur (the main Icelandic highway), so that is not hard to find it. The place is so calm and peaceful, around you there's just grass, sheeps (but don't expect any noise: we have never been disturbed by them) and a beautiful wiew. Inside, everything seems to express care for the customer and Disa is a friendly owner. We will come back for sure!
The stay at our hosts' house was wonderful, the best we had during our week-long trip around Iceland. Their house was large, clean, warm and perfectly decorated. There was a breathtaking view from the windows. We also had a hot tub to use, from which we admired the Northern Lights. The hosts made sure our stay was enjoyable 🤍 We are delighted and highly recommend staying at Freyja's and Palli's house.
The Guesthouse is located in the same place where you start the preparation for rafting. Rooms and shared bathrooms are very clean. The shared kitchen is in another building nearby, within the campground, and is well equipped. There are a couple of picnic tables available outside. The hot pools are ok (not natural, no views, but nicely warm). Very close to Fosslaug natural hot springs.
We had such a wonderful time at Solvanes Farmholidays and can’t rate this properly highly enough! Eydis and her family are amazing, generous and knowledgeable hosts who cooked us delicious breakfasts and dinners. We enjoyed meeting the animals in this lovely part of Iceland. The beds were comfy and kitchen well equipped.
Thank-you for a fantastic and authentic experience in Iceland!
Very comfortable, very clean and well-appointed rooms. There is a spacious and well-supplied kitchen for guests to use. Location is great for access to outdoor activities in this part of north Iceland, and the Glaumbaer homestead/museum is just a few hundred meters down the road. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Everything exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend.
It was self catering but we cooked a evening meal and then a cooked breakfast the next day. We lingered as long as we could - didnt want to leave. this is a property that deserves a 2 or 3 day stay to relax and go out hiking in the day time. We would go back again for longer if visiting iceland again.
What a wonderful place to stay. We were in a cabin with twin beds, plus a loft. Spacious kitchen and living room area, with good sized bathroom and bedroom. A nice front deck overlooking the natural hot spring and the gorgeous Icelandic landscape. All done in natural wood. A very homey place!
The cabin was huge for the two of us, lovely to have space after lots of hotel rooms. We used the full kitchen and enjoyed the hot tub, this was a place we definitely could have stayed longer as so much space.
The hot tub was a bonus and beautiful to sit in, we went in before and after dinner.
Really friendly hostess who met us when we arrived and showed us our room and facilities etc. Beautiful dog too! Small breakfast items in fridge were very welcome. Interesting to chat to our hostess about Icelandic horses and how they're kept on the farm and the mountainsides.
Dinner at the restaurant was exceptional. My wife and I both had their Cod dish that was absolutely fantastic. In addition, my wife has several food allergies and they were able to prepare the dish to meet her needs. Price was very good and the service was definitely 5 stars.
Host is very friendly and helpful. She also informed us in advance about lack of restaurants nearby, so we made sure to have dinner prior to arrival. Coffee was great, as was having a fridge with some food provided (since no meal plan possible at Midsitja).
Having the hot tub with the natural hot spring water was the seller. I loved soaking in at the end of the day. The fridge was well-stocked. The place was worth it.
This is a lovely and welcoming farmhouse in a lovely rural area of Iceland. Great location - lots to do and see in the area, and the stay was very comfortable
The location of the property is beautiful. The staff was relatively friendly/helpful. Nice restaurant on-site and the pool/hot tubs were also a nice amenity.
