This guesthouse was exceptional. The host made me feel right at home as soon as I arrived. My room and the common areas were very clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The breakfast was a great way to start the day and included lots of fresh and delicious options.

The sky is dark, no sources of light pollution around, mountains aside are not tall, so you see the sky from left to right without obstacles. We had chance to see beautiful northern lights, and it was awesome. Just use one of two large spaces on the road that lead to the hotel, there are the darkest spots for observing. Hotel is very clean and soundproof. Good breakfast.

Self check-in instructions were sent ahead of time so arriving late was no problem. Hotel was very responsive to messages. They required you to take your shoes off at the entrance of both the hotel and the breakfast buildings, first time doing this in Europe and I liked it very much. Plenty of birds to observe along the track to the accommodation and from the bedroom. The complementary chocolate and drinks facility was topped up on the second day of our stay, which was a nice touch we did not get at other places we stayed for two days. The host was attentive without being obtrusive.

The barn is converted into a very modern hotel. You can not beet it’s location across the street from Godsfoss. Nor it’s panoramic pasture views which are perfect for Aurora watching. Community room and breakfast room are lovely and the breakfast was a great start to the day.
