The staff were very polite, helpful and friendly - they helped me organise a surprise gift for my wife, and were ready to help with each little request we had. And the hotel is very modern and clean, with a lot of complimentary amenities in the room.

Nicosia is a lovely city with both poorer both more modern, lively neighbourhoods. The shopping streets, the Laiki Geitonia quarter are great places if you are looking for special things. The tavernas are amazing, sometimes there's live music and random Greek people stand up to dance. The hospitality and the kindness of local people is examplary. I would also highlight the level of safety! Me and my daughter went home late at night every day, even in empty dark streets, and nobody ever hassled us. It is unbelievable, but true! The public transport is not easy to use, not clear where to look for which bus, but feel free to ask local people they are always eager to help. It is also worth visiting the Turksih side, which is interesting, historical and traditional.

Nicosia is a positive culture shock for anyone coming from continental Europe. But after first day everything falls into place, you get to know the city, how everything works, get to know different people from different cultures and different backgrounds. You find coffee shops and restaurants off main street, smaller and less crowded but cosy and homy.
There are a lot of museum and gallery attractions. I would definitely recommend Center for Visual Arts. Shacolas Tower is great to see Nicosia from birds eye view, but ignore the neglected gallery.
If you're into discoverying Old Town in detail, find out about Street Quest Nicosia, get the map and be amazed.
If you'd like to spend some time on seaside, there's a bus for Larnaca. Takes less than an hour to get from Nicosia center to the Larnaca beach.

Loved the contrast between the two sides of the old town and I found the history fascinating. We both enjoyed some good food on both sides of the border and the shopping on the Turkish side is great for those who enjoy the Turkish style.
I also enjoyed the classic motorcycle museum as much for the knowledge and passion of the man running it as the bikes themselves.
Lots to see and experience, would thoroughly recommend it.

Nicosia's old town is fascinating and safe to walk around day and night.
Nicosia also has an excellent cheap bus service.
Locals are friendly and helpful if you need directions. Many Cypriots speak English.
And of course the Greek Cypriot food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Besides, almost always great weather, very nice people, and delicious food, 1 - to 2 days in Nicosia is enough to walk around and check out the sightseeing. I recommend passing through the border to the Turkish side and shopping a bit in the Turkish Bazar (the ladies will like POSH Handbags & Shoes shop) and eating at the local restaurants. Have a Turkish coffee.

A nice, clean hotel in a quiet area. A bit far from the city centre but a walking distance anyway. Not very far from the bus stops to Larnaca, Limassol, etc.
The service was great. Friendly, helpful had a lot of complimentary stuf. Brekfast was included. So far the best hotel we visited in Cyprus for that price.
