Awesome stay at Buzza’s!
Matt and Kay were the best hosts and treated us like family. The resort is an absolute dream and is about a 5-10 min walk to walking street. If you’re in need of some comfort food, check out the lasagna lady! Her name is Gigi and has a little stand offering a few different kinds of Italian deliciousness! Also, Almost Famous is a groovy bar with fabulous mojitos for 120 baht. Yummy!!

Excellent location. Incredible tasty breakfast. Lovely caring staff. We found the bed 'beyond' hard and very uncomfortable but it is a personal choice. Probably could use a little updating with paint.

Beautiful place destroyed by young travelers mainly Germans and British coming for the tipsy tubing on the river...really stupid and dangerous attraction...The authority should stop this! Otherwise it remains a beautiful area to visit.

Pai is a sleepy little hippie village surrounded by mountains. There are no AirBnB tours and no Trip Advisor tours. The streets are lined with tea shops, restaurants, bars, coffee joints and lots of weed shops. Riding scooters here is super dangerous. I’d say about 5-10% of the other travelers had crashed their scooters and were bandaged up. Everything is walkable. So not worth the risk. Loved Pai. Lots of Britts being rowdy at night but bars close at Midnight, so they all have to go home. During the day, it is so sleepy.

Ten years ago this might have been heaven on earth.
Ten years ago this might have been heaven on earth. Today, it's overrun with party-hungry, mostly British tourists, who are loud, numerous and disrespectful. Such a shame, really, as the town is charming and the nature is lush, but it's just too much of that drinking-puking-yelling vibe to be enjoyable.

Pai canyon was a challenge for us age 60 and 73 but well worth it. Stunning. Pai is called a hippy hangout but most of the young people we met were just travelling having a good time, it’s essentially a young persons place but fun . Countryside is beautiful

Amazing nature and chill vibes once you get off the main drag. Walking street is overwhelming and crowded during the day at the height of tourist season, much nicer at night. A variety of travelers but majority young hippie types which we had mixed feelings about…met lots of very wonderful friendly people into travel, plants, yoga, etc but there were also many who didn't seem to respect the locals much. We would still 100% go back but would get a bungalow type accommodation in a quieter area rather than a hostel on Walking Street. Also, you should really plan to rent a motorbike (in short supply during tourist season) if you want to get out to quiet spots or nature experiences. If you don't have a motorbike you will be stuck in the crowds during the day or have limited walking excursions. We do hope to return, we were not ready to leave. Many more waterfalls and hikes we could have explored and we felt we could have made many great friends if we had been able to stay more than 2 days

Pai is the place in Thailand where the travelers (as opposed to the tourists) come to see the real northern Thailand. Granted it is full of travelers but they come from all over the world and that makes it special if you want to embrace the world and all the wonderful people in it. Even though travelers outnumber the local Thai people, the local people embrace the world travelers and welcome us with a smile. There are many outdoor activities and I met a group of Indonesian cyclists who are riding the May Hong Song Loop (600 kilometers/370 miles with climbs like the Alps in the Tour de France)... on bicycles, not motor bikes -- they were amazing!
A small town surrounded by wonderful nature sites and a thriving night market plus really cool live music in small clubs all over town. OK, enough gushing, just get here!
If you loved the vibe of El Nido in the Philippines but aren't a beach person, this is the place! If you want the uni spring break vibe there is a daily party on the river full of mostly naked people drinking, dancing and having a good time. That's not my scene but it's here if you want it.
One last tip: Pai Canyon at sunset!
Mother and son traveling. 62 years and 27 years.
The location and scenery of the resort was amazing. Set amongst farmland and mountains. The resort is fabulous. Super garden , pool area and plants. The swimming pool is a great asset when the weather is hot and humid.
Plenty of comfortable areas to sit and unwind. Tastefully decorated and quaint seating areas.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. A hidden paradise. Our best value stay in Thailand for the high quality and standard.
The staff were excellent. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and well maintained. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the roof top seating area was absolutely stunning. Only a short walk to town and situated in a beautiful, quiet area. One of the best places we’ve stayed on our trip through Thailand.
Beautiful, peaceful resort. Comfortable room (if a little cold in the mornings!). Staff very friendly and helpful. Refreshing natural pool. Great location - beautiful view over the mountains and only 10 min walk into town. Best place I stayed in Thailand <3
