Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) Information
Location and Transport
The recently renamed Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (formerly Lisbon Portela Airport) is located 4 miles (7 kilometres) from the city centre. An efficient public transportation system ensures passengers arrive quickly and comfortably. Hop on the Aeroporto-Saldanha Metro to downtown Lisbon, catch a local bus, or travel directly to your destination on the Airport Shuttle. Alternatively, take a taxi, which will go by a meter and should cost around EUR 12.
Nearby Hotels and Airport Facilities
Plenty of nearby hotels cater to travellers with planned stopovers in Lisbon and those who are unexpectedly delayed. If you find yourself with some spare time before takeoff, check out the vast retail area, which includes local and international brand shops, or escape to the premium ANA lounge. There’s also free WiFi, banks and currency exchange services.
Terminal Information
Lisbon Airport contains two terminals, although Terminal 2 is much smaller and is mainly used by low-cost carriers. They are linked by a free shuttle service.

Was handy for the airport, only 10 minutes. The host, Wagner , arranged a taxi for me for the following morning. I bought some food and prepared in the kitchen so didn't have time to look around Camarate.

We did not choose to stay in Sacavém to 'see' Sacavém.
We did not choose to stay in Sacavém to 'see' Sacavém. We rented a car and wanted something close to the airport. We used the car rental to visit other places in Portugal. Although, the host recommended Courela do Fouguete restaurant was awesome albeit little English.

Odivelas for us was just a location to spent a night, so, I can't much tell about this town/city. In area where we stayed for 6 nights (at the metro station) were 2 food stores, 2 bakeries (Espiga Dourada is really great!), fresh fruit/vegetable store, hot food store. Around in distance no more than 1 km from metro station are dozen of different restaurants.
According our observations, calm and safe area.

The apartment is very spacious and only 10 minutes from the airport, which is super convenient. There are two large shopping malls nearby, ideal for shopping and dining. The atmosphere is calm, fresh, and peaceful. The apartment was spotless, and the host was always very communicative, helpful, and attentive making our stay perfect.

Lisbon exceeded our travel expectations!
Lisbon exceeded our travel expectations! The people were friendly, we felt safe on all public transit & walking the neighborhoods, all the food we ate was very good (although TimeOut Market had good prices & food, it was very crowded ~ we think going to a neighborhood cafe or restaurant is a better choice). The restaurants on the side streets seemed to have better service & offerings that those on the main streets. Getting the daily transit pass at the Metro stations worked well for us. One day we added the public ferry to travel across the river & enjoy the view. The trains were easy to navigate. The busses & trams were crowded & did not announce the stops, so keep alert as to where you are located & when you need to exit. We took one tour to Pena Palace ~ complete with all tickets included. It was excellent: great information & assistance from the guide, & it saved much time with transport & waiting in lines. The Oceanarium was good but very crowded & had ticket lines ~ very dark walking in the exhibits. We enjoyed the Maritime museum & there is an excellent cafe with hot food options as well as a good museum shop for Lisbon souvenirs (you can enter the shop & cafe separate from the museum). Be careful walking on the irregular, sometimes wet tile sidewalks & streets that have missing tile blocks.

The staff at Goa Square were friendly, helpful, and always available with recommendations. The rooms themselves were spotless and well-maintained, making for a comfortable stay. Plus, the location in Amadora is great for exploring Lisbon. There are plenty of sights nearby, and it's easy to get around.
Just a heads-up that there can be some noise from the cuisine at night, so light sleepers might want to pack earplugs. Overall, though, a great stay!

Camarate is a quiet and green place, sorrounded by olive trees, flowers and bushes. The house is clean and it has many facilities, we could have breakfast home and eat the rest of meal in a quiet atmosphere. Nice place to sleep well, after a long day visiting the city

Lisbon is a beautiful, thriving city with lots to do and see. Mind the Hills, the best way we found to get around was with Uber. Very Reasonable, also take a moment to go outside of the city, some beautiful areas to visit. Take a visit to O'Gilins Bar near Pink Street. Great Irish Pub with lots of chats, music and fine beer.
Finally when you visit dont forget to taste the custard tarts. :)

Not an easy site for the elderly, infirm or disabled though...
Not an easy site for the elderly, infirm or disabled though the people help wherever possible...and of course it is a very hilly city in parts so the up/down transit on foot is tiring but all in all a great city! Plenty to do, wide variety of 'cultural attractions, caters well for children (Museum of Illusion) , good food, not overly expensive... my only disappointment was that the Gulbenkian was closed for works-did they not know I was coming?!!! I wasn't there long enough to explore well but I'll be back with more time....
