Chris, our main contact, was exceptionally helpful. When I inquired upon check-in if it was possible to upgrade to a slightly larger room to accommodate my family, he immediately offered solutions, including giving me the key to an empty "room" to see if it was a better fit. It was a major upgrade--huge floor-through suite with window frontage on three sides--at no additional cost! Wow! He did not need to do this, and my kids and I were shocked in the best way possible. Chris really made our stay so pleasant and comfortable, on top of us being in a convenient, walkable location right on Main Street. This was our second time staying at Trade Winds, and it will not be our last. We like visiting the Midcoast at least once a year, and I'll be looking to book here first.

I loved how close the Talbot house was to downtown and the bus station which we used to travel from southern Maine. The heated floors in the bathroom were heavenly.

The cottage was private considering it was right on the main road. Very convenient to everything in the area. Beautiful sunrises and the evening deck was pleasant with the ocean views. Very light and airy with all the windows. Very comfortable furnishings. We’d definitely rent it again!

Loved visiting town and near by Owls Head lighthouse.
Loved visiting town and near by Owls Head lighthouse. Ada's restaurant was yummy!
I drove around and checked out the quaint houses and shops.
I took a 4 day schooner sail with a group of 22 fellow Girl Campers .
I will explore more before I head back to the airport in Portland.
All the local people I talked to were so friendly and willing to answer all my "tourist" questions :).

The view of Penobscot Bay was sublime at any time of day. We went into Rockland for part of a day, but found ourselves more willing to stay at the property because it was so comfortable there.
It is easy to find the property by plotting coordinates in a sat-nav, since the unpaved road it is on is not mapped in Google Maps. The unpaved road is part of its seclusion.

We picked the location because it was central to other areas we visited. We drove through Thomaston often, but didn't spend much time exploring the town. Seemed like a quaint little village. Some restaurants we would have liked to check out weren't open - maybe too early in the season (June 1-8) or lack of staff (a problem everywhere)

A quaint little village with access to both Owls Head and Marshalls Point lighthouses - and Port Clyde, which had a ferry to Monhegan Island. There are a few restaurants and stores - and it's only 12 minutes to rt. 1.

Rockland is a beautiful little town, The Rock Harbor Pub and Brewery is a good place to stop for some great food.
My visit was mainly for The Maine Lighthouse Museum which i was not disappointed in, i spent over 3 hours in there, so if you are as interested in Lighthouses and their histories like i am then it is the Lighthouse version of Disneyland.
I will return to Rockland as i unfortunately missed out on visiting The Matinicus Rock Light.
It also has many restaurants.

Tenants Harbor is a small, quaint. little village on the Atlantic coast of Maine. We shopped in the Port Clyde General Store and ate at the Dip-Net restaurant and got coffee and other things in the Drift Net. A nice place to visit, but watch out for the various hotels in the village - they are very old and very expensive without many of the amenities you would expect at their price point, i.e. no elevators to third floor rooms, no air conditioning for the warm afternoons and evenings, and some rooms don't even have cross ventilation.
