"The old town is a pleasure to walk around with small streets and nice architecture. Very safe and everything is within walking distance so you can soak up the atmosphere. Always music nearby and the occasional smell of barbeque. Off the beaten path there's loads to see. Incredible beaches. Plenty for families with boat trips to the caves, water sports, etc. I recommend taking a taxi to Slide and Splash - I think it was about 30 mins away but it's a great day out and after paying the initial ticket all the slides are free and queue times aren't long. Tourists avoid going there on the weekend because they think it's busy but it's actually the best time because they avoid it then! There are other water parks etc. but that's the only one we visited during our stay. Restaurants can be a bit expensive but the food quality is generally top class. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. We didn't get to see everything and will be going back. It was a bit hot the week we were there (mid-30s mid-day) but it didn't stop us having a great stay."

Beautiful hotel, everything has been thought out to the detail, amazingly located in Falésia, with pine trees all over and beach 2 min walk with direct access. Lovely town especially the old town, some good bars and excellent eateries. Worth taking the time to meander around and take in the atmosphere. Can be a little expensive for drinks in some parts of the old town. Beautiful beaches and scenic coastline. Taxis are good value, particularly Uber and there are regular bus services.

The old part of town is very pretty, with many restaurants. A great walking path along the cliff tops. Beautiful sea and clean beaches. Large supermarkets like Lidl, Intermarché, etc. Public parking is available, so you can safely leave your car on the street. Seagulls can be noisy at night and in the early morning. A great place for a great vacation with family or friends, I recommend it.

There isn't a whole lot to see in Faro.

There isn't a whole lot to see in Faro. We stayed here because there were a couple of trips (bird-watching and dolphin-watching) that we joined from Faro harbor. The bird-watching trip (with Eco Boat tours) was enjoyable, the dolphin watching trip (with Ocean Vibes) was quite disappointing.

We had a fantastic time in Portimão. The town offers the perfect blend of beautiful beaches, great restaurants, and a relaxed atmosphere. Praia da Rocha is stunning, with golden sands and breathtaking coastal views. The local people were friendly and welcoming, and there was plenty to see and do, from the marina and waterfront to nearby boat trips and coastal walks. The weather was excellent throughout our stay, making it an ideal destination for a relaxing holiday. We would highly recommend Portimão and would happily return in the future. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beautiful village with lots of shopping and restaurants, ferry to beaches. I wish we could have stayed longer, and I look forward to coming back. An excellent choice over Faro (closest airport). The beach (Ilha de Tavira) was a dream - highly recommend getting a Cabana or sunbed from Pria da Barra - comfortable and away from the crowds. Artefact was our favorite restaurant, followed closely by Bossa. Tavira House is a wonderful place to stay. Very walkable city and ferry to beach is cheap, convenient and easy.

Look if you are a family, or just a couple this is the place...

Look if you are a family, or just a couple this is the place for you. Great rooms, great facilities, great food and bar area, great pool. And the location is perfect to be out of the town but easy to get to by foot or shuttle. Highly recommended.

The best part of Alvor is the restaurants, all reasonably priced and superb sea food. It's a small white washed fishing village. We went for a menu of the day at Alvor wine for 14 euros. We had a pate starter and some fresh seabas fillets plus a dessert!

Great area with lots to do.

Great area with lots to do. Family friendly and reasonably cheap to eat out. The beach is lovely and water in crystal clear so bring googles for fish spotting. There is also a beach just down the road - tiny cove that not many know about. Its at the bottom of the look out near Mar de Fora

We felt safe during our stay,especially as our apartment was...

We felt safe during our stay,especially as our apartment was on the same street as the police station. Everything was so convenient, with cash points, restaurants, gift shops, supermarkets and other amenities all within walking distance. There is also a play area for the children to play football especially during the evening. A lovely stroll along the beach was beautiful at night times.

A lovely area.

A lovely area. We did not get to visit many places like we did last time as our daughter was in a wheelchair. My review of the area is based on last year when we stayed and stayed at a lovely Hotel in the area.
