During this 90-minute excursion, you'll head into Australia's UNESCO-listed Blue Mountains to explore the wonders of the night sky. You can choose between a sunset or nighttime time slot, and you'll use professional-grade telescopes to view celestial features like Mars and Venus, Saturn's rings, Jupiter's moons, satellites, star clusters, the Orion Nebula, the craters and seas of the moon and more. Your expert guide will point out the various features and also teach you how to identify stars and constellations with the naked eye.

    What You Need to Know

    This tour has a low level of difficulty.

    The telescope and binoculars will be wiped before and after each guest handles it.

    In the event of overcast skies, the tour provider will email a cancelation notification at 14:00 on the day of the tour. If no email is sent at 14:00, it means the stargazing tour is confirmed.

    Please bring your binoculars if you want. There will be available pairs to share, and it will be sanitized before and after handling.

    Please wear warm clothes, gloves and bring a blanket, because mountains' nights are chilly.

    Please be aware that astronomy tours are weather dependent, they may be canceled in case of cloud cover meaning no visible stars. In this case, you will be provided with an alternative option.

    The tour provider will send you a message at 14:00 on the day of the tour to confirm the tour starting time.

    In case of bad weather, you will receive a credit for another stargazing tour or the opportunity to attend an indoor astronomy planetarium tour.

    In the event of bad weather, you will be give two options to choose from:

    - Option 1: choose to receive a gift voucher or credit to reschedule your tour, transferable to other people and valid for three years

    - Option 2: choose to attend the alternative 90-minutes indoor Planetarium Astronomy tour, located at 77 Scott Avenue in Leura

    Please note that the 90-minutes indoor Planetarium Astronomy tour is an immersive astronomy tour, taking place inside a dome with a powerful projector and cinema experience.

    A minimum of eight participants is required for the 90-minutes indoor Planetarium Astronomy tour to go ahead.
