This ticket will give you the chance to explore Cork City Gaol, a castle-like building that once served to hold 19th century prisoners. You will get to explore the grounds, stroll along the corridors and step inside the cells. Lifelike figures and exhibitions will give you a sense of what life was like for the inmates.
You can rent an audio guide that will provide an interesting narrative about the prison’s history, the 19th-century penal system and the prisoners.
