This full-day tour will take you from Yangon to the ancient city of Bago. You’ll depart from your hotel in the morning and take a two-hour drive to Bago through the countryside.
Your guide will introduce you to Bago’s famous cultural and historical landmarks, including the Taukkyan War Cemetery, the Shwemawdaw Pagoda, the Hinthagon Pagoda and the Kya Khat Wine Monastery. You’ll have the chance to gain insights into the city’s past and present and learn about local traditions.
After having lunch at a restaurant, you’ll be able to visit the reconstructed Kanbawzathadi Palace and the Shwethalyaung Temple, where you’ll see the renowned reclining Buddha image. You’ll also get the opportunity to discover a farmers’ market and the Mahazedi Pagoda before you travel back to Yangon.
