On this day tour, you’ll visit Mérida’s beautiful nature park, the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve. It's home to over 300 species of birds, most notably the majestic pink flamingos who have chosen it as a migration destination. The reserve also hosts a diverse collection of plant life and other creatures.
You’ll cruise down the river on a boat ride, passing through tangles of mangrove trees and taking in the varied scenery that includes dunes, low jungle and grasslands. You can also visit the beach of Celestún, where you can eat and bathe. Additionally, it is part of the heritage of the special reserve and has also been officially declared a wildlife refuge since 1979.
