Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

This two-part tour will take you around the city of Rotorua and its famous lakes. In the urban hub, you’ll visit several iconic buildings, see beautiful parks and stop at geothermal areas.

Out in the countryside, you’ll head to two of the region’s best crater lakes: Tikitapu and Okareka. You’ll be riding in an authentic World War II landing craft and do thrilling splashdowns onto the lakes. Your guide will tell you about the history of the craft, the eruption of Mount Tarawera in 1886 – a volcano which you’ll have excellent views of during your route – and early European settlement. You’ll also venture into the plantation forest and native forests, taking in the unique flora of New Zealand.
