In the distance, the silhouette of Monsaraz Castle completes the backdrop. This is how my screenplay unfolds. Nights at Monte da Pega, sleep eluded me as its enchantment took hold. I wrote over the span of two nights, amidst open fields, alongside my characters who had evaded my grasp for two years. I caught naps during the afternoon, when the warmth embraced the land.
