The whole facility is a slice of paradise with beautiful flowers and fruiting trees around the pool. The staff were accommodating and very friendly. Every room is unique with different art in each one. We felt safe at Shanti. Also, the ocean is only a short 5 minute walk!

Posada Woochooch is beautiful and is a safe little family hotel. It has a peaceful and beautiful garden. We loved the location, not too touristy, it was quiet but close to everything. Communication with staff was great. The family who runs the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Every day their sweet dog Rocco would welcome us. We had a shared bathroom, but everything was kept very clean so it really didn't matter. Highly recommend.

Extremely kind and they treat you like you’re a part of the family. I was really lucky to not have many other people during my stay. The tables in the rooms is a winner for me, not many places have that and I really needed it. The WiFi is really good and I could work with no issues. You’ll need to lay everywhere with cash. The shower in the dorms is interesting, let’s say you’ll have a view right at the nature :) the water in the shower is really refreshing which is actually really good excuse it’s really hot there during the day. the forest area could use some cleaning or more organized wilderness but still awesome place. I was really surprised that there were almost no mosquitos. When you’re there definitely tent the kayak! And omg Marta’s food is freaking amazing!!! Definitely order topas (pricey but delicious!!!)

This is likely one of the most beautiful places to stay in Peten, the hotel has incredible views of lake Peten Itza at pretty much every corner. A cool funicular that will take you to the a small dock on the lower part, where you will be able to jump in the lake and continue to admire the scenery. To that you can add really nice food at the restaurant that has enough variety to not taste the same food on a week long trip. But, the best thing about this place is it’s amazing staff, they are so welcoming and friendly, they will treat you like family. They gave us a lot of tips about where to go and how to get there, they always welcomed us back with a smile, a cold towel and a clean room.

Atitlan Sunset Lodge Apartments are located on the shores of Lake Atitlan in Santa Cruz La Laguna and boast excellent volcano views. Free Wi-Fi and kayak use are provided at this property. The view was spectacular and the place huge and comfortable.

Honestly I never wanted to leave. The glass front view in the lodge and the floor to ceiling glass in the shower is just stunning. We loved watching the volcano come day or night from bed or from the terrace! Really comfy bed, well equipped kitchen and there's even a yoga mat. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was lovely and everything tasted fresh, it was a little expensive (3 courses for 200Q each) but was very enjoyable with a good view. Couldn't recommend more and would love to return!

Anything I needed, he was always willing to help, hairdryer, boiling water, extra towels etc. He was always on time to pick us up by the boat and it was super easy to communicate with him during the way about pick up time.
