A fabulous place to stay, right in the middle of the National Historic Dockyard. You get to be able to wander around after, or before all the tourists are there, plus, free entrance to the rest of the national park. Room was extremely spacious, on two floors, and very comfortable indeed. WIsh we had been able to stay longer.

Southpoint gave us a lovely start to our Honeymoon in Antigua. From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent, providing us with a free bottle of wine to start our honeymoon. The room was massive with a huge balcony and a fully equipped fridge. The view from our balcony looking over the English Harbour bay was excellent. We loved the pool area with a beautiful setting overlooking the bay. The hotel is also excellently situated, just a 5 minute walk from the main town, and a 5 minute walk to Pigeon Beach and to Nelson’s Dockyard for some sightseeing. Overall would rate this hotel very highly and definitely would recommend to anyone coming to Antigua.

Visited May 25 & again May 26, so towards end of season. Third visit to this little piece of paradise. The location and views are excellent. 10 minute walk to all bars and resturants, 15 minutes walk to beach. The location means the Inn is quiet during day and night. There are a few areas in need of some TLC, but the views make up for all the slight imperfections. Sitting on the deck watching the bay, the view is never the same, as boats etc come and go, the sea changes, we also saw dolphins, a turtle, frigate birds and pelicans to name a few ( if you can bring a pair on binoculars). Robert the owner is most obliging, and helped with all our requests. Annie who helps Robert run the Inn is such a bubbly and engaging lady, we shared many laughs with her during our stay and she was most helpful. This is one of the few places to stay in around English harbour that has a pool, and it is one of the highlights of our trip. It is not the biggest of pools but it is always clean and has a lovely view over the bay, and was a welcome relief from the sun. The surrounding gardens are lovely, lots of beautiful flowers, butterflies and birds to look at. The self serve honesty bar is also a lovely facility, well stocked and replenished, perfect for a rum and coke. The breakfast was always plentiful and is self serve, we were never hungry after breakfast. The rooms are spacious, with good aircon and plenty of hot water. The Inn is not high end, think shabby chic meets the Caribbean, but has an authentic Antiguan charm. On our day trips around the Island we came across many of the high end resorts, but all commented that The Inn was where we would rather be.

EDITED (June 2nd, 2025): As soon as I wrote about my experience here, I was contacted by the owner via whatsapp. She refused to admit the room was dusty and dirty, and said "mosquitoes are not my control" and "you should have stayed at a five-star property, of which I'm sure you couldn't afford". I felt very unconfortable and think it's a pity that some hosts seem unable to accept their faults and improve their overall service :( ... The owner was kind and helpful. On our 2nd day, we asked for a kettle since we wanted to drink tea in the room and she brought it immediately. We also enjoyed the views of the surrounding nature.

    Super!

Super! We stayed in the heart of the historic Nelson’s Dockyard, really interesting, lovely old buildings, surrounded by the sea and yachts. We walked to Pigeon Point beach and spent the day at Cathrine’s cafe. We hired sunbeds and had drinks and lunch. Food excellent. We ate dinner at the Admiral’s Inn on a waterside table which was lovely. Food and service very good in beautiful surroundings. We did the Shirley Heights Sunday party, which was initially a bit overwhelming, crowded, noisy and smoky with huge queues for food and drink, but once we got the measure of it, had a great time. The sunset and view was amazing, the band were excellent and when we eventually got food (late after the crowds) it was good.

Lovely lively friendly place. 2easily accessible beaches and in a nice position to explore the east and west coast. Supermarkets were good ….restaurants good and varied. Nice to see local life as well as seeing multi millionaires yachts moored at the two marinas.

Plenty of cafes/restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner - Cloggy's, Seabreeze, Barb- B's, Flattie's, Ti Lolo, Colibri's all great. Easy to walk around. Beautiful beach a 15 minute walk. Gift shops, shops selling local wares and supermarkets within easy walking distance. Cash point quite a way to walk, about 20 minutes.
