Further your education about this musical prodigy at his actual birthplace, Mozarts Geburtshaus. The city is the namesake of the Salzach River which runs through it, and alongside this beautiful river lays the Schloss Mirabell, one of the many impressive castles within the city limits. Schloss Mirabell and Hellbrunn with their picturesque gardens, beautiful galleries and impressive halls make the ideal spot for a picnic during summer.

It was our third time in this lovely city, however the crowds of tourists were everywhere, with many tour buses. Best to visit in the off-season to best appreciate the history, architecture and music history of this very special city.

Of course, a famous place because of the Sound of music movie and the residence of Mozart.
There was a staff at the OBB lounge and she was extremely helpful.

Clearly a tourist hotspot so busy at most times and sometimes too crowded. We enjoyed the town, did the city tour and the complete Castle visit. In our opinion the Mozart connection is overplayed but that depends on your point of view. Cafe bars a delight, restaurants reasonable, public transport far better than the UK.

A wonderful city among majestic mountains!
A wonderful city among majestic mountains! Good accommodation, good food, nice people. Definitely a must see, charming old streets, beautiful scenery. I was very impressed by the Höhenfestung / Fortress, which I visited walking up to the top and walking down after a good rest on the top. It´s a real delight to sit there and enjoy the magnificent scenery, those high mountains. I´ve also made day trips to Innsbruck, Zell am See and Bad Ischl, all well worth visiting. Beautiful cafes that serve breakfast or nice terraces for lunch or evening dinner. Another must try is the Salzburger Nockerl, which was amazing. It was easy to walk just everywhere, but there are buses just everywhere. The hotel gave us a guest mobility ticket, very useful, indeed.
All in all it was a wonderful trip.

Salzburg is a stunning city , very clean, easy walking around with most attractions easy reach.we did the dinner and concert at the fortress would recommend, we were there early and lucky to get a window seat with fab view .
We also did a trip to Hallstatt so glad afternoon trip was fully booked so we did the morning, would hate to think how busy it gets during the day. We did the cable car ride when we got there so it wasn't as busy another recommendation. Then wandered around.
The castle and museum very interesting, and the gardens and parks also lovely.

This was a superb hotel. Great value, the facilities were excellent Staff were all helpful and friendly, evening arranging a birthday breakfast for my partner.
Location was a 10 minute walk from the main old town which is across the river. This area is still historic however with lots of shops - my partner was delighted our room overlooked the grave of Mozart's father and wife!
All in all we had a great time in Salzburg and a lot of this was down to the hotel.
Overall highly recommended.
Walking distance from the main station, so easy to get to. Easy walk to Salzburg old town center, the river, and restaurants. Staff was super accomodating and hotel is brand new. Some works at the back (visble from the breakfast room), but otherwise a quiet place, despite the central location. Rooms are on the small side but perfectly functional.
Comfortable. Felt at home.
Super clean.
Bus station next to hotel taking us to city centre without difficulties.
Receptionist gave us all the information that we required.
Salzburg card was easily purchased from the hotel.
Breakfast was good - very good choice and it was very fresh.
Excellent boutique hotel. Staff ( owners ) guided us with map and nearby food joints etc. It was very comfortable stay . We extended our stay by one more day to enjoy Salzburg and around..
Fabulous location overlooking the river with a view of the stunning Salzburg skyline and close to the old town. Spacious stylish and comfortable hotel.
