Previously the centre of the Hapsburg Empire, Vienna is the current centre of Austria’s culture, economics, and politics. Visitors may think they are in a museum as they walk through the historic first district, but Vienna also has a youthful and dynamic side with lots to offer.
St Stephens Cathedral in the Inner-City is surrounded by the Ring Road, with grandiose buildings like City Hall, the Austrian Parliament, the State Opera House and the Burgtheater. Enjoy the city where amazing musicians like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Mahler once lived. If you're visiting during the carnival season, practice your waltzing skills at one of Viennas 200 glamorous annual balls.
Visitors can wander around beautiful park grounds in the Wiener Prater and Schonbrunn Palace provides imperial and extravagant grounds to stroll through. After exploring, eat with the locals by enjoying famous sandwiches at Trzesniewski, a Wiener Schnitzel at Cafe Central or taste traditional wines at the city’s many Viennese pubs.

Vienna is an absolutely beautiful city that exceeded all my expectations. It's full of green spaces, and the locals genuinely enjoy spending time in the parks, which gives the city a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The public transportation system is efficient and easy to use, but you can just as easily explore the city by bike.
The cultural scene is incredible—with world-class museums, stunning historical sites, and breathtaking architecture around every corner. Food lovers will be in heaven: there are plenty of excellent restaurants offering delicious local and international cuisine. Best of all, Vienna isn’t nearly as expensive as I expected for a European capital. I truly loved every moment there and can’t wait to return!

If you want Opera or non-tourist music, book well in advance. The concerts in churches and palaces are good, but a bit Classic FM with Mozart and Strauss highlights - which may of course be what you want.
It's quite a pricey city, but always generous portions in the many cafes and restaurants, although the beer is reasonably priced.. Get a good map, the signposting is a bit hit and miss. Public transport is cheap and frequent, but the tram system can be confusing. Best way to see the city though.
It's a baroque city, so look up to see the - sometimes elegant, sometimes mad - embellishments. Eat in the Upper belvedere palace cafe, you'll never be in so elegant and extravagant a restaurant again. Visit the museums for the artwork, Klimt, Schiele especially. They're not packed like the Tate and the rubrics are translated into English, helpfully. Virtually everybody speaks English ( and probably Italian and Spanish as well). Sit and drink coffee like the Viennese do, don't walk with it. Take a boat trip, buy lunch on board a la carte, not the set menu they try to get you to pre-order. On a weekend, visit the beach bars (really!) on the banks of the Danube. Visit the churches and, as always, look up.

Vienna is a city it’s impossible not to fall in love with.
Vienna is a city it’s impossible not to fall in love with. I recommend spending at least 4 days here to truly soak in the atmosphere and see the main sights. But if you want to fully experience Vienna — its museums, palaces, cozy cafés, parks, and the charm of its various neighborhoods — plan for a week or more.
A must-see is Schönbrunn Palace. It’s not just an architectural gem but a place full of history and energy. A stroll through the palace gardens and a climb to the Gloriette offer amazing views and a peaceful break from the city.
Another must-visit spot is Praterstern and the nearby Prater Park — home to the famous Giant Ferris Wheel. It’s a great place for a relaxed walk, fun attractions, and a touch of nostalgic charm. In the evening, the lights and atmosphere there are especially magical.
Don’t miss out on trying a traditional Wiener schnitzel (preferably in an authentic local restaurant), apple strudel, and a cup of melange in one of Vienna’s historic coffee houses.
Vienna beautifully blends the elegance of its imperial past with the vibrancy of modern European life. It has everything — from classical music and world-class art to street performers and local markets. The city is incredibly clean, safe, and easy to navigate, whether on foot or by public transport.
Tip: Get the Vienna Pass or at least a public transport card — it will save you time and make museum visits and transportation much easier.
Vienna is not a city for just one day. It’s a place you’ll want to return to — again and again.

Vienna is a beautiful city where every generation can find something special for themselves. With children, you can visit the popular Prater, while adults can stroll through historical landmarks like Belvedere. Together, everyone can explore the oldest zoo in Europe.

We were there for less than 2 full days, could have used more time to explore this beautiful city. Loved the hotel, cafes, St. Stephen's Cathedral but disappointed in the Hofburg Palace tour of Sisi Museum and royal rooms...didn't get a good feel for the palace, was extremely hot and crowded inside. They've split the palace up into at least 20 tours from what one of the guides told us, each paid separately. Pricey and from our perspective, not worth it. The Opera house was gorgeous, but again, extremely hot and had to leave the opera mid way through due to this.

Viennese was a beautiful place to visit.
Viennese was a beautiful place to visit. Plenty of places to visit and eat. Expensive to eat out in restaurants and not a very good quality food. Would recommend a hotel rather than apartments as you are sure of privacy and good quality beds and linen.

Location is incredible as it is located right next to Wien Westbahnhof (with shops, restaurants, kiosks, ATM, and the inter-city train station of course, with two local train lines as well). Property is 10 minutes away to Vienna's city centre where all the main attractions are, which is very convenient. The staff are attentive and the hotel is well decorated and furnished (especially during Christmas). The rooms are spacious, modern and clean, no complaints there.
Good location. Minutes away from metro and 10-15 minutes walking to city centre.
Good room and very clean.
Very good hotel, I was very happy with my family with our choice.
Friendly staff. Mohammed at check in was really helpful providing information about the city (was our first time in Vienna) and where to park the car
Location is very good, U-bahn very close to get into the city centre quickly. The room was clean and spacious enough for two. We had our own bathroom which was great, shower was big and warm. Ample storage for clothes and cases. Also price was excellent, overall would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vienna.
Amazing hotel captivating the true spirit of Imperial Vienna, perfectly located in the city centre and close to most of the touristic sites, very high standard of cleanliness and service, very pleasant, polite and helpful personnel at reception, breakfast and room cleaning services. Our sincere compliments
It is conveniently located very close to the city centre of Vienna. The personnel were very helpful and polite. The hotel has a dedicated room to leave your bags if you arrive earlier than the check in time or if you want to place them after your checkout for a last stroll in the city
