Adelaide: Australia's Undiscovered Gem

Scratch the surface of Australia’s undiscovered gem with its blend of wonderful beaches, wide boulevards and extensive parklands including the Adelaide Botanic Garden. The City of Churches chimes to the beat during festival season with the Adelaide Festival of Arts, Adelaide Fringe and WOMADelaide.

The Torrens River flows through the city from the surrounding Mount Lofty Ranges. The Adelaide Hills features The Cleland Conservation Park that includes a wildlife park where you can pat koalas and Mount Lofty Summit with its panoramic views of the city. Hahndorf, with its German history, is another highlight.

The coast has some fantastic beaches, with historic Glenelg as a favorite local playground, while further south are the shores of Aldinga where you can drive your car onto the beach.

There are few better multicultural markets than the Adelaide Central Market, or choose from lots of museums and art galleries, some with free entry. The picturesque and historic Adelaide Oval is a favorite for sports lovers.

Adelaide is easy to get around on foot, bicycle, by car or public transport due to its small size. It has a good food culture and good local wines, although we went to a wine bar which sadly had all international white wines! I always enjoy Adelaide

Seeing the Pandas at the Adelaide Zoo were a dream come true. Swimming at Henley Beach and Port Willunga just stunning. Lunch at Star of Greece was perfection. Second time I’ve stayed at these apartments, and hopefully not the last. I just love the proximity to the city, cafes, supermarkets, can highly recommend The Kent Hotel for dinner and Cafe La Corp for light breakfast and excellent coffee. The apartment has all the amenities you could need and the beds are very large and comfortable. You do need an app on phone to enter the building and room so that might not suit some people, but as you can request a key on multiple phones it makes it easy to come and go if travelling with friends.

Beautiful hotel with exceptional service! The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. This was also one of the only hotels that acknowledged our honeymoon with a sweet handwritten note and complimentary chilled bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us when we checked in. Such a lovely surprise and touch! The hotel is located just on the North side of the CBD, with easy walking distance to the city and various parks.

Steps from the beach, a short walk to Jetty Road and all its restaurants and shops and tram, right on the main bus line. It is very easy to get into town from here. This property is more apartments than hotel rooms which is great for a longer stay. Everything was clean, comfortable and the staff was helpful and friendly. This was our second stay in less than a year. The Oak Glenelg Liberty Suites is the only place we will stay!

The convenience to the Adelaide CBD and Adelaide's inner Eastern suburbs. The staff were attentive, friendly, responsive, and yet unobtrusive. The balcony permitted an excellent view of the Adelaide Christmas Pageant, which includes Pulteney Street as part of its route. The apartments are part of Adelaide's historic architecture and the high ceilings and solid construction made for a very comfortable and relaxing stay.
