It was fancier than I expected. I feel like the price was pretty cheap so I was expecting it to be pretty average. Then it was quite fancy. Like a business hotel.
Then contrary to its nice layout and furnishings it was very family friendly, most people I saw (myself included) were traveling with young kids.

Very good value, clean rooms. Great dinner and breakfast. Staff allowed us to store our valuable mountain bikes in their secure office, which was greatly appreciated.

A popular quiz question is: what’s the capital of Australia? If you answered Sydney or Melbourne then it’s time to discover the real answer – Canberra. With Parliament House at its core, Canberra fans out across both sides of Lake Burley Griffin to reveal a diverse mix of museums, restaurants and bars filled with curious tourists, political persons and public servants.
Canberra was created as a solution to Australia’s 2 largest cities squabbling over the right to become the national capital. The Limestone Plains region in New South Wales was chosen as the site for present day Canberra. It was a good choice for nature lovers as it is surrounded by bushland, mountain ranges and, more recently, wineries.
The National Gallery, National Museum and National Library of Australia highlight Canberra’s cultural riches. Other notable institutions to visit are the High Court of Australia and the National Film and Sound Archive that stockpiles a collection of Australia’s early radio, television and film history.
The military also plays a significant role here with many training facilities for the army such as the Australian Defence Force Academy. An unforgettable experience is attending the Anzac Day Dawn service at The Australian War Memorial.
Australia’s cultural capital with a political punch has many hotels, motels and apartments on Booking.com for that city trip, business jaunt or family holiday.

As it had been many years since seeing Canberra, we enjoyed all the attractions and being able to use public transport. Canberra is laid out in very well thought out plan . The staff at the Visitor Centre were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and Walter’s Cafe most enjoyable. As we walked to this Centre it would have been helpful to have directions from the city centre. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Very liveable. Roads are well maintained.
Very liveable. Roads are well maintained. The city is well managed apart from disruptions because of construction projects. Public transport has improved compared to last time I visited.
Lacking direct international flights to most cities is a big disadvantage. It takes a 3.5-hour coach ride from Sydney Airport to get to Canberra.
The national arboretum was large but boring. It can be more intensely stocked with living specimens from all climes of Australia and abroad. A glass dome housing tropical, subtropical and desert trees will attract enthusiasts to pay pilgrimage.

The most unfairly maligned city in Australia, in my opinion.
The most unfairly maligned city in Australia, in my opinion. It's not boring at all - there's so much to do, like the National Museum of Australia which we visited this trip for their Pompeii exhibition. Great restaurants and bars. And it is the best city I've visited in the world for runners - nothing beats the enormous network of foot paths around Lake Burley Griffin and beyond.

One of the most beautiful cities in Australia.
One of the most beautiful cities in Australia. A walk or cycle ride around the lake is a must do - Lots of parking (paid during the week but free on a Sunday (not sure about Saturdays)) at Regatta point where you can hire bikes or just go for a walk. Black Mountain Tower is worth a look, the tower itself is closed but the views from Black Mountain are great. The best views of the Parliament Houses and War memorial are from the top of Mount Ainslie. There are plenty of sites and places to go in and around Canberra, the city has a vibrant nightlife and loads of shops, restaurants and cafes. There is a lot of work being done to improve the city centre (Civic). The War Memorial, Parliament House and the Arboretum are all interesting places to go. There are lots of hidden and otherwise unheard of places such as an easy hike up Mount Painter (to the north west on the edge of Belconnen) or head south west, visit the Cotter Dam or Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve. In the city itself there's the National Library and National Gallery, both of which are worth a visit.

Canberra, the utopian place that feels out of this world.
Canberra, the utopian place that feels out of this world.
Clean, beautiful, utopian but still full of life. Excellent but expensive cafes and restaurants, beautiful museums and incredible outdoor options. The whole vibe is of a young and healthy city where everyone's outdoors, running and biking either around the lake or around any of the many hills/mountains or parks surrounding Canberra.

I really like this hotel, quite even it is in the city center. It's close to canberra center (mall) and lot of restaurants around and bar. Walkable to Alinga tram station, CMAG and other tourist spot can be visited by bus, there's bus station in front of this hotel. The room is so clean, and the mini kitchen is equipped with things you need to cook if you're on a budget. Also, we came so early around 11am and they let us checked in without additional cost. Thank you!
Excellent accomodation for a couple of days. An easy drive in to the centre of Canberra to visit attractions. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were a good size and spotlessly clean. Beds were comfortable. We had booked last minute as our trip was impacted by weather and floods and we extended our stay an extra night. The staff were extremely helpful.
Room was clean and very big. Bathroom very spacious. Sheets and carpet were very clean. Loved that this hotel had their own rooftop bar and pool. Hotel was very well-located, only a short walk to Lonsdale street which has loads of cafes, shops and restaurants. Free parking on site was a plus!
