Quirky and quaint with lots of shared spaces to eat and relax in addition to a generously sized bedroom and bathroom. Very clean, tv, aircon and super comfy bef which surprised us. One hallway by chance looks like the scene from the Shining which is super cool!

Location was great! It's super close to the town and plenty to do around the area. There are plenty of dinner options nearby and you are very close to all the wineries in the hunter region. Plenty of cute horses at the farm and even saw some kangaroos! Stunning at sunset.

Cessnock rarely gets named or mentioned and instead, "Pokolbin" is used by the tourism industry .. Pokolbin is literally next door to Cessnock! As far as country towns go in NSW, Cessnock is a good place to stop in and even take a look at Pokolbin. Cessnock is well serviced shopping-wise, has many great pubs (especially "Peden's") for well priced accommodation and excellent restaurants in their own right. There are plenty of cafes as well as the usual fast food places. If you're within a hundred km of Cessnock, have a look .. it's a lovely city in its own right encircled by beautiful mountains and vineyards. Don't be pulled into "just" looking at Pokolbin and the vineyards. Cessnock is worth a visit. I have a strong feeling that tourism folk don't like to mention the name "Cessnock" due to its coal mining history - but that in itself can be a drawcard.

Cessnock is a lovely "little" country town just two hours north of Sydney. Make time to visit the Hunter Valley Wildlife Park - adults are $42 ea, - it is a lovely wildlife reserve, the chocolate factory and the lovely wineries. The people are very friendly and helpful. Give the Asian restaurant (Kee Ho Restaurant) a miss - they are expensive, and the quality of the food does not represent the cost.

What a beautifully presented house full of antiques and homely touches. Just amazed at the well stocked kitchen, laundry etc. The beds were comfy, even the sofa bed. It was a great space for 5 adults and 3 children. Wish the weather was warmer for the swimming pool though!

first time ever being in cessnock, the place we stayed the night at was great, we went to the wildlife sanctuary which was so much fun. for dinner we went to the italian cottage and was amazing would definately go there again was delisious. only let down of the hole trip was that the taxis were horrible we had dinner booked at 7 we called a taxi and they said it was going to be a 45mins wait we then called the cottage and let them know this and moved our dinner back 30mins, we then had the taxi turn up 10-15mins later but lucky the place we were having dinner was fine with us coming at the time we said originally. we then ordered a taxi to go home which was a 30mins walk home. they told us to wait outside and would be there in a few minutes.... we waited over an hour for the taxi to come we even called once we had waited 30mins already and they said they still had 2 people infront of us... which they had already said it wouldnt be long until they would get to us.... so sounded like a lie to us. We ended up walking home becuase it was cold and was sick of waiting for this damn taxi to arrive never ended up getting a message to say the taxi had even showed up to the venue of where we had dinner. very dissapointed in this.

We visit Cessnock frequently as we have friends there and always have a great time. There is plenty to do, beautiful scenery, many good restaurants and a vibrant social life. In fact we bought a block of land at The Vintage with a view to building a home there.
On my last visit, we tried the new restaurant Pescara and had a great time and we always eat at The Deck which is fabulous. Had the best duck there I have ever eaten! Tamburlaine is our favourite cellar door and there is a myriad of other great wineries with restaurants.
We book mini-buses when we go to functions there or out for meals when we are sampling the local wines. They are very well priced and convenient. It is also easy to take a bus to Morissett for a train back to Sydney if required.
This stately and handsome house is well equipped with all the things a group of visitors would need. Every room has reverse cycle air conditioning and electric blankets, and the lounge area has a beautiful fireplace. The cherry on the cake is definitely the big round spa. We spent hours in the spa drinking our new cellar door wines, just the thing for aching muscles after trekking around the Hunter Valley.
Clean, quiet, comfortable, convenient location, lots of parking, easy to get in and out of the hotel, the aircon was working very well on a scorching hot day. An affordable option for an overnight stay close to Pokolbin. There are plenty of places to have breakfast/lunch/dinner in very close proximity to the hotel.
Visited the hunter valley for a wine tour and this was the perfect accommodation to stay at for a quick one night stay! Extremely comfy bed, very clean and easy parking onsite. Staff accommodating and our room was ready for check in at 9am which was extremely helpful after a long drive. Very good value.
The friendliness of the owner, and willingness to help with my questions of local facilities etc.
Quiet location despite being on a main road. Great access to the local wineries and attractions. Close to a variety of restaurants/hotels for meals too.
Check in was easy and clear instructions were given on how to get into the hotel when staff weren’t present.
The room was huge and the bed was so comfy.
Breakfast selection was good with fresh fruit, juice, eggs and cereal offered.
Everything was very clean. Two rooms had sinks with running water in them which is amazing for thirsty people after a day in the hunter valley. The other room had a balcony which was great for a final drink a the end of the night.
Perfect in every sense, clean, quiet and just 12 mins drive to wineries, hunter valley gardens. Very helpful staff, welcomed us with a bottle of wine. A must place to stay when in hunter valley..😊
awesome motel manager helped us during our stay at Cessnock Motel, a freshly renovated room with great value for money. i would come back again, and i will surely recommend this place to everyone
The cottage was perfect for our group of sisters to celebrate our mums 70th birthday. Lovely quiet area for relaxing in the lovely cottage yet a short drive from the Hunter Valley wineries.
Property is pet friendly and kitchen is good size. TV is good with Netflix available. New couches and new patio furniture are great. Hosts are responsive and very considerate.
