Loved the location and the walk down to the beach. Provisions were lovely and the location away from traffic. Certainly would be staying again when we return to Tassie. Thanks again.

I rented the place for my parents while they were visiting us, and they enjoyed their stay.
We will definitely rent it again

Very chilly, with a cold wind at the time of our visit, but we drove around so I could take photos of the many beautiful old buildings & homes. Spent a very interesting time at the Pilot Station museum , and cafe there, having a truly scrumptious lunch. The history and artifacts in the museum was far more interesting than i expected, and the guardian volunteers who "man" the entrance were so interesting in their narration.
The Low Head area is lovely also, and our highlight of that area was the Penguin Tour at dusk on our first evening, and the absolutely great accommodation and food at the Comfort Inn, The Pier was beautiful, with the waterfront right outside our door.

From George Town we also visited Beaconsfield (Gold Mine) and Beauty Point (Sea Horse World - where there was a good restaurant) on the eastern side of the Tamar River traveling over the Batman Bridge.
Nearby was the 'Bass & Flinders Museum' and Low Head Pilot Station (with cafe) and Lighthouse.

George Town is set in the most beautiful surroundings.
George Town is set in the most beautiful surroundings. The town itself has had a 'bad rap' in the past but is now through all that negativity and is definitely 'on the up'. All the people we met were very friendly and welcoming. A short car trip up to Low Head only reinforced the absolutely stunning beauty of the area. We loved it!

A small, neat tidy town with plenty of improvements being made, walking paths flat and easy to get around. History in abundance for those who are interested. A number of differing meal venues, all of good quality and availability.

From York Cove apartments, there is a sealed walkway all the way around to the township. George Town is 'coming of age' with the inclusion now of a few coffee shops and cafes/restaurants.

Food in the area is really lacking and over priced.
Food in the area is really lacking and over priced. The fish and chip place on a Friday was the best food around. It’s a lovely walk (albeit long one) to Low Head Lighthouse, but otherwise a very sleepy place to visit. Would have been better from October onwards as all the farms were closed in September.
The staff were excellent. All were very friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Special mention needs to be made of Kristen who went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Every Hotel should have at least one of her.
The Crazy Duck Restaurant is top notch with great food.
The Low Head Pilot Station is historically interesting, worth a visit for that reason alone.
On the way there, we encountered heavy rain and a sharp drop in temperature. In anticipation, our cottage was unlocked for quick entry and the living room gas heater was fired up. Much appreciated.
Private cozy cottage set in a beautiful garden, It had everything we needed and more - a very comfortable bed, slippers, bathrobes, games, books, DVDs and an abundance of food for breakfast. It was well located to visit the Fairy Penguin tours at Low Head which we also loved.
I had a great view of the river, the room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is very close to town. The man at check in kindly carried my case upstairs for me. Staff were good, I hardly saw them and they were helpful.
Having separate rooms and a kitchen was a great improvement over bed-sit style hotel rooms. I enjoyed having access to an air fryer. The location is excellent, near to the centre of George Town, and also with water views.
the location was brilliant...our room was directly opposite the water/easy walking distance to shops/the onsite hotel was terrific...George Town/Low Head are a panoramic beauty...be prepared to be surprised.
The staff were lovely. The accommodation is in a great location. Food at the hotel was fabulous. Plenty of parking. Room was warm. All basic amenities provided. Bed and pillow surprisingly comfortable.
The location is perfect right on the water,
the hotel and the food was perfect, the staff made
us feel at home with all the extras booking a tour and dinner in advance.
