We stayed at The Bluff Shack along the Great Ocean Road as a family of five (my wife and I with our three children aged 11, 9, and 6). The accommodation includes two bedrooms, one bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious living area overlooking beautiful natural scenery with a lovely partial ocean view, creating a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The furniture is classic and elegant, with very high quality, and the large, new TV offers many channels and subscriptions. The Wi-Fi is extremely fast, which was a great bonus for our family. We stayed on 24 and 25 December 2025, and it was a memorable experience—we truly wished we could have stayed longer. The kitchen is fully equipped with clean utensils, and includes an oven and microwave. The refrigerator is large and works perfectly. The property was spotlessly clean upon arrival, and we were welcomed with chocolates and a welcome note, which was a lovely touch. The beach is only a 5-minute walk away, very clean, and features a designated swimming area with lifeguards and safety flags, making it ideal and safe for families. In addition, within a 17-minute drive, we enjoyed a beautiful hiking experience at Sheoak Falls Walk, surrounded by nature and stunning scenery. Having a guitar and some games available in the house added a warm, family-friendly feel and made the stay even more enjoyable, especially for the kids. Special thanks to Lisa for her kindness, excellent communication, and attention to detail. We highly recommend this place for families looking for comfort, tranquility, and a beautiful nature-filled stay along the Great Ocean Road, and we would happily return again 🌿🌊

It did not get off to a good start. On entering the property, the lights were on, the air conditioning was blasting out and there was no information about how to switch it off. There was also a large black bin full of builders/decorators rubbish in the sitting room. In general there was a shortage of information, ie the wood fire (how did that work?) the heater in the bedroom didn’t work, it took us some time to find the control for the air conditioning unit, etc etc. Having said what was wrong, we did find the house was generally well equipped as regards utensils, and the place was clean. Nice location.
