The location, the stay, the staff, the experience was serene. Smooth check in and smoother check out, with very good beds for a comfy sleep along with a cabin that was very clean with a hygienically clean washroom. They even provided us with a blanket, towels, electric mattress, toaster, glasses, cups and all the cutleries to make our stay comfortable. Definitely a place to stay when in mount gambier. Highly recommended.

Larger country town with great facilities and many sightseeing options. Close to one Australia's great wine regions. Many accommodation choices available to suit all budgets. And of course it has the Blue Lake.

Such a pretty town with so many lovely houses and building. Lovely history to the place. Great vibe in the town centre with cafes and pubs and community. Lots to see and do with all the sinkholes, lakes and proximity to Coonawarra and Port MacDonell beaches

For a big town it lacked a choice of restaurants, we arrived quite late as travelling and nothing was open in town. Actually felt like a ghost town.
Good place to stop if travelling ocean road but only need one night there!
The Barns where we stayed had a good restaurant that was still open but is 20 min drive from town centre.

Beautiful historic town with famous landmarks, such as the volcanic crater lake (Blue Lake) and the Umpherston Sinkhole and sunken gardens. Very walkable town with lots of boutique shops, restaurants and coffee houses.

Much to see and do within a 100km radius of the city.
Much to see and do within a 100km radius of the city. It is a pity the the Princess Margaret Rose Cave is currently shut and there is no indication about a reopening date. The expected date (End of 2023) is now history. Direction signs should carry this information. Naracoorte Caves excellent. Get directions to "Hells Hole" and go for a short walk, Be amazed! Visitor centre is very helpful. If you are reasonably fit climb Mt Schank and walk the rim of an dormant volcano.

Despite the amazing natural attractions (especially the Blue Lake which is resplendent at this time of year), Mount Gambier seems to be revelling in past glories and much of the tourist infrastructure appears dated and run-down. Even the 'attractions' sign as you drive into town is peeling and faded...
The hotel has lovely gardens. The gym is well equipped. We had dinner at the Steakhouse which served good local produce. The steak was excellent. They did get the booking wrong, we booked for 6 but told us we had booked for 3. They did manage to find us a table though. The room was very clean and has a large bathroom with proper bath tub and rain shower. Had a very pleasant stay there and would recommend to anyone wanting a bit of lux in Mt Gambier.
The lady on at reception,Mollie, was exceptionally helpful.Juggled things around so we didn't need to move motels and then when we found ourselves in a room where the wifi connection wasn't the best she immediately found us another room. And this at an incredibly busy time for the motel. She was always friendly and helpful and I feel she is a wonderful example of what reception staff at motels/hotels should be like.😊
The breakfast was included for 10$ but for $6 extra we upgraded to a massive big breakfast. Its such a genius upgrade idea I loved it
The staff were so attentive and friendly. The dining room was great and the whole place looked as good as a hotel in the city. Top knotch
100% will be coming back here
It's a unique hotel experience with a lot of history. Not only you get to stay in clean rooms, there are shared facilities that are nicely kept. There are also some cute cats roaming around, if you're lucky you might get to pat them. The location is close to the city centre.
Great value. The location of the motel is in the centre of Mount Gambier. The receptionist assist my mother to move her car while the carpark is full. Great service. The motel is only 5 minutes away from the Blue Lake. Great Stay.
I was staying at the federal hotel. The rooms were very small. No DVD no microwave. Your place cost me $3 more for so much more. I was very happy. I will not be returning to the federal again. I will be staying with you
Everything. Checking in was quick
We got all informations we needed.
The young lady was very friendly and we felt really welcome.
I never had before sich a huge room in a hotel. Not even in a 4 star hotel
The room was very spacious and comfortable. Quiet location and perfect location as I was attending a function at The Barn. Bathroom was superb and the room and facilities couldnt be faulted.
I was attending a conference. The location was suitable, price and value for money excellent. In a rural town, after Covid and staff issues, this motel was better than expected.
Spacious room in executive suite. Bed is better than some other hotels I have been. Toilet has locks which is must for a family with kids. Our kids loved the balcony.
Overall our stay was great. The motel has a lot of potential. Very affordable, which is great for larger families.
Easy to find, and the kids loved the bunk bed.
This was a really nice caravan park with nice open spaces and best of all it's pet friendly! We made a lot of use of the BBQ and kitchenette in the room.
