Penguin is a beautiful sea side town with lots of charm from the park to the beach with several interesting eateries to explore. Also a few interesting shops.
The nearby town of Ulverstone while larger than Penguin is only 10 minutes away by car and has its own charms to explore.
The mountains behind Penguin looked interesting and our host, Wayne had many suggestions for interesting places to explore.
I cannot rave enough about how wonderful the included breakfast was. Our host made delicious scrambled eggs, fried mushroom, tomatoes and toast. This easily kept us going all day with only a light lunch.

Growing up in Tassie an Island, its nice to stay by the Sea when you need to relax and switch off. I visited the Tulip Festival at Table Cape near Wynyard, I also went to the Penguin Markets on Sunday and walked along the beach in perfect October Spring weather.

Penguin is a beautiful friendly seaside town, that punches well above it's weight in quality restaurants and shops! El Perro Tapas Restaurant& Bar & The letterbox cafe are stand out options!
We were amazed by the stunning view. The interior decoration made us feel like immersing in a music world. The kitchen was fully equipped. We were provided ingredients for a full breakfast which was not advertised. We had the privilege to enjoy the whole house with five bedrooms which could accommodate 13 people, though we were only two couples. The owner only rents to one party no matter how many people the group has. Highly recommended if you’re going to Cradle Mountain or penguin viewing at Lilico Beach.
The cottage is beautifully furnished and modern with creative wooden shelves and finishings. The beds were super comfortable and the room cleverly arranged. The location is superb: close to Penguin but nestled in a quiet valley. When we woke up the birdsong from the natural forest surrounding the farm waa exquisite,, and two adorable ponies grazing in the field just outside the front porch. We could not see or hear our neighbours so we felt like the only ones there.
We enjoyed a fabulous 4 day stay at Penguin Beach House. It was in an excellent location to the town centre, a 10 minute walk into town along a new walkway. The kitchen was very well equipped and the basic condiments available were very handy. The three main bedrooms in the main section of the house were very comfortable as were the two bathrooms. The reverse cycle A/C made the living room very comfortable in the evening.
Right at the heart of Penguin! I was staying in August and there was barely anyone else staying the 5th e hostel so had the whole room for myself. Warm duvet and blankets as well as towels provided. Rooms were quite spacious with tables, chairs, shelves and cheater in. Kitchen was well equipped with a lot of fridge space.
Really easy to drive up and around to other seaside towns.
We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Penguin Seaside Farm.
The view from our living space was amazing and the accommodation itself was very restful and immaculately clean. Fresh eggs in the fridge to enjoy and just a thoroughly lovely space to be in.
Communication with our hosts was easy and Hugh called by to welcome us. Very enjoyable!
Location was very good. Very impressed with what is happening in Penguin. Liked the shower/bathroom. The whole thing was very modern. well designed and user friendly. Lovely kitchen. We loved the wildlife show in the creek even though there was no platypus. The owner was very friendly and helpful
Location was fantastic, opposite the beach.
Easy walk into town, it was a beautiful place.People in Penguin were lovely, restaurant “Seasons by the sea” was awesome.
House was so clean with everything you could wish for.
Owner, Terry came around and was very informative and lovely.
Nice spacious room, clean and comfortable with a nice view. Ting, the owner very friendly and helpful, even insisted on carrying our suitcases up the stairs, and back down when we left. Continental breakfast was delivered to our room at agreed time, some tasty fresh pastries included.
the apartment located at a wonderful place that you may see the moonrise from the living room. and the super markets are near by, in front of us are white sand little playground. the apartment itself is well designed, clean and provides bug tub. really really in love with here!
Our Hosts, Fran & Terry welcomed us on our arrival to their beautifully appointed house across the road from the beach. If I could give 6 stars I would as all of our needs were fulfilled.
The evening port was certainly appreciated. Look forward to a return visit.
Self-catering. Was ~2km from shops, beach etc. Very quiet with only a bit of traffic noise from the highway. Quiet grounds with BBQ amenities, the Penguin creek running at the back of the property & access & a seat for some quiet contemplation.
Wayne was a fantastic host, very friendly and accommodating. He served up a delicious breakfast and was very informative about what to do in the area. The room and shared living space were great, it felt like home.
Comfy and quiet. Relaxing spot with everything I needed for a quick trip for work. Kitchen well equipped, gas stove, pots etc to eat in. Great outlook in green gully. 2 mins from Penguin Centre.
The location of this property is excellent short walks to everything you will need on Penguin. Clean, spacious and comfortable beds. Would be a great place if you had a family.
The view is amazing and the owner was so kind. We really enjoyed everything about it. Penguin is a very nice little town. Enjoyed the fresh eggs and meeting the farm animals.
The property is very well located near the centre of town. Parking and access was exactly as described and the unit was well well presented for our arrival.
