This newly renovated hotel is a gem - primarily because the staff are first class! Professional, friendly, knowledgeable and always eager to assist. We had a minor issue with our fridge, and the staff went above and beyond, offering us an upgrade and bending over backwards to assist. The breakfast was delicious, and the coffee was first-rate. Loved the onesie and slippers in the room, and the 9th-floor suite was stunning. Can’t recommend this hotel enough. Will definitely be back!

FAQs about hotels in Perth

Serene as the Swan

Sun-drenched and laid-back, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.

The city center has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.

Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.

The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialties such as western rock lobster and chili mussels. There are also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.

Found the Art Gallery a bit negative in its curation but the museum excellent. Fremantle and Rottnest were excellent - Rottnest is a real push in a one day trip even with the hop-on off bus (missed out on the battery and the seals). Enjoyed Cottesloe beach and Fremantle for a wander. Shipwreck museum was very interesting and the Jail tour fascinating; but insufficient time for the WA maritime and Submarine museums. Bell tower well worth it. Whiteman Park and Caversham Wildlife Park were well worth the train ride, but again ran out of time so did not see the Motor, tractor or Transport museum ( Granddaughter's desires outvoted Grandad's). Generally getting around by Bus and train was easy.

Perth is easy to get around in.

Perth is easy to get around in. The people are very kind and helpful. Wish we'd had a chance to get out to the astronomical observatory and take in a live game of footy. Loved the diversity of the local population and the opportunity to experience a wide range of cultural food choices. Made it easy for vegan members of our group.

The weather was perfect for our 4 days in August, the wildflowers were out in Kings Park. We hired a car & found Perth easy to get around with navigation. Founds a few shopping precincts with cafes & everything available to cater for ourselves.

Perth is a beautiful place, lots of nice areas to explore and visit. Naturally pretty with beaches, parks, and ferry cruises being the highlights. Need more than a few days to explore the beaches, Rottnest etc.

Perth is a very quaint city with a lot of artistic attitude within. There are numerous buildings with murals depicted upon the walls. I enjoyed walking throughout the city and just admiring the beauty of it. I recommend anyone who enjoys leisure walks and art to visit Perth.

Almost all of my trips have been to Perth for work, so the time spent there has been limited, and I have tried to make use of any down time to explore a little of the city. I have to say - I love Perth! It has a temperate climate most of the year, the central city is flat enough and compact enough to be able to walk a lot of it, and it has a good network of busses and trains for getting around. Being in an isolated part of Australia, it is self-sufficient: you don't have to look hard to find pretty much anything if you are visiting. There are a lot of eating places in easy walking distance in the central city. A high ratio of them cater for Asian food, which is a change I have noticed since my last visit 6 years ago, but I guess that may reflect a changing demographic. With a bit of looking, I was able to find restaurants not too far away to suit my tastes. The city has a slightly laid back vibe which appeals to me, and I would say that if I ever had to choose somewhere to relocate to, Perth would be high on my list.

Had a great stay at QT Perth. The room was very nice, stylish, and clean, with a really comfortable bed that made it easy to get a good night’s sleep. The hotel is in a very good location, close to shops, restaurants, and public transport, which made getting around super easy. Overall, a comfortable and convenient stay that I’d happily recommend.

Check in was fantastic. I had called ahead because I was arriving some time after 1am. Having a friendly 24 hour concierge was one of the reasons I chose the European Hotel. Cam was so friendly and helpful, even giving me pointers on travel in Perth. My room was serviced every day with lovely big towels, and even face washers.
