Room was spacious, shower was large and clean, the grounds beautiful, this is the wet season so expect lots of rain, beautiful tree frogs, host was very accommodating, we arrived late but that wasn't a problem. We were offered breakfast but had to leave early. To be honest for the price, it's a bargain.

The hostel manager, Stef was a star. he's pro active in all ways about the place, communicative, helpful, informative. he was invaluable keeping us informed about our dissapeering snorkel trip. He's keeping The Retreat as ship shape as possible under difficult circumstances. The beds were comfortable as were the common areas. the showers are hot and easy to get right. It's a friendly family vibe.

The property was beautiful and located not too far from mission beach. It had everything you could need and was clearly very well thought out. Very cosy atmosphere and loved the outdoor area. The host was also super lovely and gave us some recommendations for food in the area. If we were to stay in the area again for a longer period of time we wouldn’t think twice about rebooking!
