Sydney is a must for any visitor to Australia, but allow yourself plenty of time as there is so much to see and everything takes to to get to due to the size of the city. The harbour ferries are amazing and afford the opportunity to visit many of the must see places. Manly in particular is a delightful place

I absolutely loved Sydney!
I absolutely loved Sydney!
After my roadtrip along the coast from cairns to Sydney I fancied meat after all the fish I ate and went to Una’s in Victoria St/Darlinghurst and ordered a schnitzel and hot my fix! It is massive and scrumptious with a great choice of sauces.
Had a lovely breakfast at the lookout cafe Elizabeth Bay with view over the marina.
The Chinese Friendship Garden in Chinatown is stunning, a peaceful escape of the hustle and bustle
Of the city.
If visiting during jacaranda season don’t miss McDougall st…. It’s stunning!
No need to mention the Rocks, the opera house and the bridge or the botanical gardens, all beautiful and worth a visit.
Have a browse and shop in the Victoria Building… gorgeous building and shops and eateries.
The Art Gallery is a must too!

The Opal card was a winner, we used it for the tram (light rail), and the ferries, made getting around easy, just tap to hop on and off. We used the ferry to go to Manly and to Parramatta. Manly is a nice spot with shopping and there we markets on the day we went. Not so impressed with Parramatta, but the journey on the river was lovely.

Sydney has a nice harbor , some ok musuems, and some nice places like Darling harbor and Chinatown-haymarket, and the eastern suburbs beaches. It has a good network of public trsnsportation. But in the city center and city fringe it is a very expensive place. Everything from the ubers to the restaurants is priced at a premium. It seems many residents are just getting by and are stressed out. There are no less rude people here than any other big city. There are great parks and beaches to enjoy without cost and it's relatively safe so there's that.

Thanks to Alex and John for being nice to us. The place is value for money. It is a good location. 2 train stations away to the CBD. What I like is the character of this hotel with its old stuff. The lift is the old lift with railing and wooden door. It is working properly. Our room had a working induction cooker, complete cooking utensils. You can always ask the reception if you need something. The reception is working like an office hours. So better ask them within these hours if you need something.
This hotel is in an excellent location. Minutes to the Rocks, Circular Quay, Barangaroo, and so many restaurants cafes and parks.
The hotel amenities are great. Lovely pool at a good temp, big spa, and excellent sauna. Staff friendly. Parking on site. Big apartments. I just love this place, and I've stayed in loads of city hotels. This one doesn't have views of the harbour, but you get a big balcony, which is so nice to sit out on to watch the sun go down. And the views are fine anyway.
The Ultimo is a hotel with modern interiors, situated in an historic building in the Haymarket area of Sydney CBD. A short walk to Central train station. Easy walk to Darling Harbour and into other CBD areas. A tram is a street away. Across the road is Paddys Market and China Town is nearby. Loads of restaurants and cafes in the area provide travelers with plenty of food ad drink choices.
