This hotel was really a surprise. We booked late in the afternoon on the way from one place to another. It was so comfortable! It was immaculately clean and there is a nice restaurant attached as well as a cute gift shop. The items in the gift shop were unexpected and very reasonably priced. I bought a few Christmas gifts here.
I would highly recommend this hotel I also want to mention the front desk clerk was as nice and friendly as she could be. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

A beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean and in a great location, views from the balcony were amazing !
All round terrace so views from every room.
Lift access from a free car parking space underneath the building.
Kitchen had everything you need for but if you are coming by car remember to bring the little things like coffee, tea and sugar and a tea towel and maybe a coat hanger or two, me personally lived out of my case so it did not bother me too much but my friend hand her clothes on the coat pegs in the hallway.
Not a biggie.
There is a Lidl and Aldi about a mile away which was handy, but we did not see any other shops close by, it was February so possibly the shops are seasonal.
Transport links very good, and we caught the coastal tram to Ostend which was just under 8 euros for a day pass, so you can hop on and off all day.
I cannot say anything negative about the apartment and would highly recommend

A great seaside town, with easy access along the coast on the tram.
There are plenty of restaurants on the front over looking the beach and sea, you're spoilt for choice. Probably cheaper options away from the front.
Also easy access to Ypres/Leper for those who want the drive around the World War I battlefields, cemeteries, memorials and war museums.

Sandy beach you can hire sunbeds/parasols.
Limited English menus etc but not a major issue.

Great town with many shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes. Saturday morning market was impressive. Coast line tram service runs up most of the Belgium coast (we had a day in Ostend). Sea front is clean tidy, beach is massive (beach huts available for hire). Train station is accessible by tram.

Although a small town, the centre is very full with shops, food stalls and restraurant. Fries, ice-cream and chocolate are all there. Although as :Belgium, I'd expect way more chocolate shops.
The beach is long and not crowded. It is fitted with cabins that can be rented.
There is an amusement park (and water park) which can make for a fun day out. You'd need to book it.
There are not halal food places around, and the closest thing is across the French border (~20KM).

There was a market in the centre that was lively and full of interesting things. De Panne is expensive and even moderate restaurants cost Euro 70/80 for two. THe beach is long and sandy so ideal for those with children.

A surprising find but we loved this independent hotel only a few minutes walk from the beach. Very helpful staff, very clean facilities and comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast and parking too (pre-book in busy times). A little gem and for us an unexpected find in terms of the hotel and the location. We'd never heard of De Panne but will definitely return.
The breakfast is very good and rich, the place is close to the tram taking us to De Panne in 5-10 mins and the inner garden is very beautiful.
The owner is very kind, but be aware that he likes punctuality (so on the arrival date, he won't receive you one minute earlier or later than the announced interval 16h-19h).
Bed was comfortable, shower amazing and TV a good size. No safe or tea/coffee making facilities - quite basic. Parking was €20 a night (which we weren’t expecting) and the car park was horribly small and tight (under the hotel).
For our expectations the accommodation was a good size with a nice garden and we could walk to Plopsaland and Plopsaqua and the Train/Tram station.
The owners were helpful and responded quickly to all queries.
