We had a wonderful stay in the Space Room at Inthemia. The theme is very original and beautifully done — it really feels like stepping into another world. The room was spotless, comfortable, and very well equipped. The atmosphere is calm and unique, perfect for a special and memorable stay. Awesome architecture, beautiful old town and lovely to wonder around. Very quiet on a Monday and Tuesday so if you want a vibe, start your stay from a Wednesday. City under going huge regeneration at the moment (May 2026), so there is a lot of construction which did make navigating some of the old town difficult and some of the suggested parks etc were inaccessible

what a nice city, very clean. lots of opportunities to visit museum, restaurant. We also made a tour with city guide that was very pleasant. we discovered the beautiful cathedral. Also the region is very nice to discover by bicycle. But prepare to be "out in the blue", not many shops, restaurants in the neighborhood.

Very easy to walk around this small city, many pedestrians only areas and really good road surfaces - all very smooth and level, great for wheelechairs. Lots of interesting buildings including the Cathedral and Belfry. A number of museums including theBeaux Arts and the Military museum (which was excellent), and the museum of Folklore was different! Lovely cafes, bars and restaurants though pricey in the main square cheaper places were available further out. A must is to see the surprisingly amusing 20 min history film in the Tourist office, Tournais is very, very old and has a very chequered history with multiple owners. We were near the canalised river where there is a rising road bridge and lots of time was spent watching the enormous barges going along to Rotterdam.

I’d never heard of the place but there is loads to do here.

I’d never heard of the place but there is loads to do here. The town of the five bells has lots of history and is a great place to see art. There is also a medieval bridge. This is only open for tours on specific days. It looked like there were lots of lovely restaurants and a nice town square. The bakery patisserie Vivienne is well worth a visit. It is so tasty and beautiful both outside and inside. The salt and pepper baguette is amazing.

The city of Tournai is beautiful!

The city of Tournai is beautiful! It has that old world charm that we were looking for. There are also some interesting sights and museums. We were very impressed with the fine arts museum and with the natural history museum. We had wonderful meals at several restaurants on or near the Grand Place. Tournai also had a small town vibe, and we felt very safe walking around our neighborhood at night. All in all, a perfect stay.

Tournai appeared to be quiet when we arrived but it really came to life in the evenings. We tried a couple of very good restaurants, one of which we had booked in advance, but many others were fully booked; an indication that they were also good. Several splendid bars with, of course, excellent Belgian beers. We had lunch at some of the restaurants in the main square, again very good but beware of the portion sizes, my wife and I should have shared a meal.

Basic room in central Tournai, good value for money. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the shower really powerful with plenty of hot water. Free parking outside is a plus too. Stayed in a different room to the one booked but the owner was really communicative and refunded me the difference in price of the rooms so it wasn't an issue. A good base for a short stay.

Spacious apartment which was very clean and had everything we needed. Loved the balcony overlooking the river and with a view of the cathedral.
