There are lots of pros and cons about Haskovo and Bulgaria...
There are lots of pros and cons about Haskovo and Bulgaria in general. We felt it was like coming back in last century with facilities. We just could not put up with smoking everywhere. There are no cash machines around and you have to pay in cash in most places. No free drinking water facilities. Not many lamp posts outside, roads conditions leave much to be desired and people say it is not safe to go out late when it is dark… Not many people speak English or pretend they don’t understand and local people take advantage of you, offering double prices for taxi and other services. The best room we have seen on our 90 days cycling trip so far. All in place, high standard and quality. The two guys on duty during our visit (19/9-20/9) are exceptional and worth gold in the hotel!
