The city has some cool markets, good restaurants. We stayed close to the attractions so everything we wanted to see was in walking distance. the only time we used the metro was to access the ariport. It was nice to have a relaxed pace to explore Sofia and get over our jet lag. Sofia is an incredibly vibrant and dynamic city with a sleek, modern vibe that still beautifully preserves its rich history. I’m absolutely in love with its stunning churches and cathedrals—they’re breathtaking! The city’s restaurants, cafés, and clubs are full of life, offering amazing food, great energy, and an exciting mix of people from all walks of life. One of the things I love most is how close Sofia is to nature. Just a 10-minute drive takes you to the majestic Vitosha Mountain—perfect for hiking, skiing, or simply escaping the buzz of the city for some fresh air and incredible views. Don’t miss the Darvenitsa Monastery—it's a hidden gem and a must-see! Sofia is a fascinating blend of old-world charm and modern energy, with subtle traces of its communist past (so unfortunate that the Russian army has oppressing this amazing country for so long!!) adding depth to its story. It was very clean, the staff were friendly and professional and the room was very good for the price. The room had very good sound proofing, comfortable memory foam mattresses on the beds, the bathroom was clean and had a bath mat! (that's a first for me in Bulgaria) and there was a small balcony for the smokers. Compared to other hotels of a similar price, this was by far the best we have had in Sofia.
