I recently spent my weekend getaway at this hotel in Bahrain, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived until the moment I checked out, everything was perfectly handled. Amazing hotel. Since the room we originally booked wasn’t available, we received an upgrade and were able to check in before 3 pm, which was a wonderful surprise. The pool and spa facilities were excellent, and our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. After checking out, they kindly stored our bags with the concierge so we could enjoy the city before going to the airport.

The Merchant House has possibly the best location in Manama: You can walk to the Souq, to the waterfront and take a cabs both to the east to visit the Bahrein fort (6km), to the south to visit the A'ali Mounds and to the west to the Pearling Trail. On top of that, you are a few steps away from Haji Cafe-restaurant were you get the best authentic (and cheap) breakfast in Manama. Don't miss the Quran Museum, full of jewels, also walking distance. Also visit the Khamis Mosque and the new Souq Al Baraha.

During my stay the accommodated me more than my expectation. From requesting early check in which they did not promise me since based on availability. But they did accommodated me early check in since I reached bahrain by morning flight, with the less sleep this was help a lot. To requesting late check out when my flight back was 8pm. At first I requested till 3pm however they allow me to extend and rest in the room till the time I need to leave bahrain. The lady and the man who did me the checked in and deliver my luggage, and the lady who did my checked out, 3 of them are outstanding. Unfortunately I don't get their names since they were not wearing name tag which I'm not sure if that the standard of the barcelo hotel or not, since some of the hotel or resort have the standard that their team members not required wearing name tag. Overall, everything went well during my stays.
