Montreal is the second largest city in Canada and the entry point to Quebec province via Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport. Montreal truly has it all. Divided into East and West by Boulevard Saint-Laurent, there are several districts to the city, each offering a distinct atmosphere.
Downtown is best explored on foot, as you weave your way through skyscrapers and visit museums such as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. In the winter time you can steer clear of icy paths by heading underground through the passages of the Underground City, full of shops, cinemas and food courts.
From here metros will conveniently take you outwards in any direction you might want to go, from the historic Old Montreal to the hip café and restaurant culture of the Quartier Latin-Le Village.
In summer, stay closer to the old town and head outdoors in Parc Jean-Drapeau on the St Lawrence River islands of Île Sainte-Helen and Île Notre-Dame. If the weather isn’t fine enough for rowing, water-skiing and beaches then head to the Montreal Casino.

It is a clean and friendly historic Canadian city with a European feel. Food varieties are great, and the people are polite. It is also a very walkable city with plenty of options. Plenty of shopping too.

Favourite place was Habitat 67., You can take a tour and it goes into one of the apartments. Old Montreal is easy to walk around. Museum of Archeology as very disappointing.
You are also in the midst of many school tours in early June,

There are some many cool neighborhoods to see.
There are some many cool neighborhoods to see. Stay near the orange line and it'll be easy to get around. If you can plan a slow afternoon or two in different neighborhoods. Get a coffee and pastry in the Plateau, walk the shops, grab a beer. Go to Little Italy and see Jean Talon, grab a coffee and pastry, glass of wine on a patio.

I loved Montreal.
I loved Montreal. I love the cool weather and being able to walk safely everywhere. Of course, you still need to take your normal precautions when walking in any big city. Old Historic Montreal feels like Paris, and Chinatown has great food and is bustling. We also went to Mount Royal. Wear your sneakers for a lovely hike. If you enjoy biking, there are numerous bike lanes and access to public bikes available. Overall, Montreal is a beautiful city.

Very clean and the bed is comfortable. I forgot to collect belongs from the drawer when checking out. The staff found it while cleaning the room then called my cell phone later. I picked it up from the motel office. Friendly staff! This was actually my 2nd bookings with this motel because we were very impressed by the cleaniness in my first trip. Parking is free and 5 mins driving to the center of Montreal. This motel is absolutely a highly recommended budget hotel close to Montreal downtown! We will definitely come back.
It's a decent hotel in a decent location. It's located outside of downtown Montreal/Old Port but it is a 5 minute walk to Namur Station which will connect you downtown quickly.
The hotel is a little dated but overall decently maintained. The room was spacious, clean and cosy. The pool was fine too.
I think it is underrated because it is dated. The price is fair for what you get, in comparison to what you see in the city.
Hotel Le Cantliz was a great starting point for our trip in Canada.
In Montreal the hotel is close to the shopping street. We enjoyed the facilities, including the gym and rooftop pool.
