FAQs about hotels in Vancouver

Outstanding Capital of the Outdoors

Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.

Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.

Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.

With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.

We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.

Easy access from the airport via the Sky Train which linked up with the transit trains which brought you around the city. We did the Hop On Hop Off bus tour which was very good, especially the stop at Granville Island. A day trip to Grouse Mountain is a must do - especially if you have kids with you.

Loved the area and the locals we encountered.

Loved the area and the locals we encountered. The Big Bus Hop On Hop Off was great, but way better when the driver delivered the commentary (two out of four rides were fantastic, the other two were boring because the drivers only drove us around without any commentary at all). Didn’t like how packed the waterfront area was all the time.

Vancouver ia a beautiful and bustling city.

Vancouver ia a beautiful and bustling city. The climate is close to Seattle with cool and balmy weather. There were a few rain showers but cleared up quickly. There was some traffic but with good planning, it's walkable and Uber-friendly cuty. The people are friendly, kind, and generous. There is a lot of activities for adults and families. From Whale watching to electric bikes, on and off the bus, seaplanes to nearby cities within a ferry ride or bus tour. The city is a must-see and you would grow to love its picturesque surroundings with lush greenery and waterfront harbor and towering city buildings.

Vancouver is a lovely big city with small city charm.

Vancouver is a lovely big city with small city charm. The public transport system is great and makes it easy to get around. Stanley Park is impressive, and the Van Dusen Botanical Garden is a great example of how a city with long term vision can help create lovely green spaces. Getting around Vancouver with public transport is easy, and staff on buses, and trains were extremely helpful and friendly.

Great hotel in one of the best shopping areas in Vancouver. Hotel breakfast was delicious but lots of other restaurants and cafes around too. Walkable to Gastown and the port area, approx. 25 minutes. Huge room and lovely views. I would 100% stay here again. Vancouver hotels very expensive but this was more reasonable than some of the others and worth it. They let us check in over four hours early with no extra charge, much appreciated after getting off a cruise ship early. We then paid CAD20 for a late check out which was really handy.

The view and location: the Waterfront area is wonderful with a relaxed vibe. There's an Urban Fare across the street where you can buy a coffee and sandwich or just go into their supermarket. Both downtown and Stanley Park are at (12-20 minutes) walking distance. Ubering to North Vancouver (best parks) wasn't too expensive and took about 25 minutes as well. Would 100% recommend to stay here.

This Hotel is situated in a fantastic area of Vancouver's West End, it is a 2min walk from English Bay beach and really close to Stanley park and loads of local shops and restaurants. It is also about a 20min walk to the city centre. Perfect location for us as a family.
