Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.
Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.
Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.
With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.
We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.

We loved everything about Vancouver!
We loved everything about Vancouver! Well, except the weather! First few days were cool and overcast but then the rain came. Just be prepared for it.
The scenic attractions are beautiful, Stanley Park and Grouse Mountain, Capillano Bridge to Granville Island, day trip to Whistler, everywhere is magical. Then there's the Aquarium and Art Galleries and Museum and the I Fly screen and sport stadium tours. So much to see and do, we need another vacation!

I enjoyed my short solo trip; the city is friendly and busy. I enjoyed the tour, which included visits to Granville Island, Stanley Park, Chinatown, steam watch, the view and Gastown, while also learning about the history of British Columbia. I would love to visit again and highly recommend it to others.

If you want to see a suspension bridge, unless it’s Christmas time when they decorated with lights or you have little ones who like climbing up and downstairs between the trees, skip Capilano suspension Bridge in favor of Canyon suspension Bridge. Lynn Canyon has an amazing river and waterfalls that you can see and walk to, and it’s completely free. Take an Uber for about US$26 there and about the same back Versus about 50 or $60 admission to Capilano for each person.
Abode downstairs at the blue horizon hotel is a wonderful place for breakfast. Plan on about $20 for breakfast for each person, but their food is fabulous. We also liked Glowbol for a celebratory meal for our daughter‘s graduation. It’s a beautiful restaurant with a water fountain and decorative lights and outdoor fire, and management is amazing. They accommodated us even though I messed up making the reservation! Bitą W florist is open until 11 PM in the Gastown area and made an amazing graduation bouquet for our daughter right there on the spot while we waited!

Vancouver is a city of contrast.
Vancouver is a city of contrast. On one side it's a loud, dirty city, with a sad picture of countless totally stoned homeless people gathering around the footpath and parks. On the other side, it has the most beautiful parks and gardens accessible to everyone for free.

We had a very nice stay at the Windsor Guest House in Vancouver. The location is perfect, just near Broadway City Hall Metro Station, very easy to reach from Vancouver International Airport and 3-4 stops from Vancouver Downtown. More than that, the staff was superfriendly, both the one that has welcomed us in as well as the breakfast staff. The breakfast is a nice moment also to exchange ideas and experiences with the other guests. It's definitely the best choice for us in Vancouver, and we recommend it.
My husband and I commenced our Canada road trip at the Exchange, Vancouver and wow what a lovely stay we had! We were so well looked after by the friendly and accommodating staff, the hotel was so clean and modern and our room was just beautiful. The hotel is in a great central location in a nice part of the city. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Highly recommend the Hydra restaurant within the hotel too, one of the best meals we’ve ever had.
This is the best value in Vancouver. I've stayed at every high end hotel and while the Parker isn't five stars, the price is for what you get. Clean, comfortable, an INCREDIBLE rooftop bar and restaurant where I enjoyed half price caviar and bubbles on Sunday, and a short walk to shopping. There are great little touches like kick lighting under the bed and L'occitane amenities. Love the Parker.
We loved the French decor and feel of the hotel. When we arrived the staff were very helpful. Gorgeous foyer! The room was spacious, very comfortable and with great city views. The hotel is in a great location in downtown Vancouver, close to walk down to the harbour. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vancouver.
